LOCATION: The location was excellent, walking distance to the slopes and center of Abetone. STAFF: The two women working the front desk during our stay were very friendly and accommodating. The young woman spoke perfect English and the other employee, Barbara, worked to make us a dinner reservation with a local restaurant. The cleaning staff was very kind and thorough. The restaurant staff was great with our four kids. The spa treatment (steam, sauna and whirlpool) was very relaxing and the staff very attentive. ROOMS: The family room was perfect for our children (ages 10, 12, 14 and 15). It had a bedroom with a double bed and a living space that could sleep 3 more. All rooms had a mini refrigerator. DINNER: My daughters and younger son had the lamb, I had the veal, my oldest son had cod, and my husband had duck. The food was delicious, but the portions were relatively small. We paid resort prices, so we didn't bother ordering pasta dishes. The kids tried the tiramisu and panna, which was good. SPA: Very relaxing and modern in feel. My husband and I did the 1 hour steam, sauna and whirlpool soak. The treatments were carefully timed (so we were on a schedule of sorts), but worked well. Afterwards we were invited to stay and relax with some tea, nut/fruit mix and biscuits. The robes were comfy and the complimentary flip flops were a fun touch. ROOMS: We booked two rooms, one with a spa bath tub, looking forward to relaxing after a day on the slopes. Upon check-in, we soon realized the tub did not work. Also, the mini refrigerator had tape on the cord and was room temperature. To add to our disappointment, there was a pair or children's underwear on top of the towel rack in our bathroom... clearly left from the prior guests. The room did appear to have been cleaned, but they somehow missed that. The front desk immediately changed our room, but had none left with a tub, only a shower. The second room was actually nicer, but the showers are small (even for me at 5 feet tall, my husband is 6 feet). Generally speaking, the rooms are quite outdated and the pillows were awful. The beds were just so-so for two adults to share. My impression was they put all of their money into the spa. EXTRAS: The rooms had no tea kettle or coffee maker. First time I've seen this in any hotel. So if you miss breakfast, you are out of luck. I paid 4 euro for a tiny cappuccino in town. No smart tv's. BREAKFAST: (7:30-9:30am) was the same both mornings, with very little in the way of selection compared to other places we've stayed in Europe, especially Italy. They offered hardboiled eggs and many pastries and breads. Oddly, no salami, only one type of cheese and mortadella. The scrambled eggs and bacon we all looked forward to was gone both mornings when we arrived (8am first day), and the second day they didn't even both to replenish it after I mentioned the tray was empty. It was only 8:50. I am guessing this is because they have a list of who to expect and didn't think it made sense to cook another tray. Just my guess, but disappointing. DINNER: The menu is not extensive, and as with breakfast, it doesn't change and there are no specials. So we wouldn't have wanted to eat there a second night. PAID PARKING: The lot is small and awkward if there is ice and many cars.

Excellent location, near ski lift easy walk, big parking lot, very good breakfast, great staff, let us in before normal check in time and very good SPA.
-
Location is good Beds and pillows were uncomfortable. Disposable plastic cups in the bathroom. Food in the restaurant was pricey and tasteless.
-
- location - atmosphere in hotel - beautiful interiors - friendliness of staff
-
Basically only the location Old facility not at the level of a four stars hotel. Parking very poor with ice and abusive parking still charged 7 euro per day. Breakfast not included despite a very high rate
-
Employee very kind Verucchio expensive, poor restaurant, poor room looks like a bed-and-breakfast.

The staff was very nice and allowed to check in much before the check-in time It is not a hotel of four stars. Be ready to pay for spa 30€ per person, and no one will warn you about additional charge. Also no one will tell you that you need to reserve your spa time. We booked the hotel only because of the spa, and then we learned that there was no availability until the last moment. Not the cost is the problem but the fact that no one tells that you need to reserve the spa and pay for it. Another point, there were stains on the bedsheets. I am completely disappointed with entire establishment.

The location and the staff were amazing I just missed something to heat water and some coffee saches , especially because I woke up everyday around 4 in the morning because of time difference. And also was cold. A small fridge as we had is good of course but hot water for coffe or tea in the winter is a must

Perfect location, nice staff, welcoming atmosfere and nice spa. We really enjoyed breakfast and the very warm and Christmassy environment. I would recomand especially for families. We didn’t like the fact that after we came back from dinner we found the hotel completely closed. Lights in the hall turned off and nobody at the reception. They forgot to mention that access to the hotel after 11 pm was possible with a code though a service door. We called a number posted on the main entrance and someone came to open us immediately. We would have liked to enjoy the bar and the gaming area before going to sleep but it was not possible after 11 pm.

The stay was lovely over Christmas, we were really looked after. The staff were exceptional.

An excellent hotel for a single night stay- would have liked to stay longer. We were walking a ridge walk along the Apennines and loved the comfort of this hotel. The footpath passes through the village so this location was ideal. The staff were lovely, and the room very comfortable. The breakfast was ample and a young man serving the breakfast was particularly smiley and friendly- we really liked him. This is the kind of staff that really makes you feel welcome. We hope to come back for longer.
