This renovated heritage hotel is located in the historical area of Ahmedabad. You can see all the wonderful things that were done to repair and make it like new. The service was very nice, always accompanied by a smile. It was hard to reach because of narrow roads and lots of traffic. And because of this the hotel explains that you had to get off at one road and walk along another road to reach it. I am not writing this as a negative experience because being in the historical part of Ahmedabad is quite different than being in other parts of the city, which we liked very much. We left at 6:45 am for the airport with a taxi us up directly at the hotel with no problem. The shower. We turned on the switch to heat up the water but it only lasted about a minute, after waiting sometime there was about another minute of hot water.

Need to go up steep steps so would br difficult for some...

Good food and facilities. Getting to the hotel was little difficult as the lanes are small are crowded. The bedroom had an internal staircase safely locked on both sides by old traditional wooden doors so if anyone is very loud it can be heard through that.

The beds could be more comfortable. Mattresses could be more hard which are good for back .

Lovely historic villa, spacious, quiet, well cared for. lovely staff, great breakfast, cant fault it. location can be tricky to find at first but no problem. its great to be right in the heart of the old town

We loved this old heritage property in a 300 year old city. Felt nostalgic as we had similar properties in our village which sadly been demolished and modern ones in their place! I love how this property has been refurbished and modern amenities added in for guests, with government funding. Beautiful halls inside which are being used for functions etc…when guests are not staying. We had a comfortable triple room, the single beds were little small for a bigger person but we were ok. It is noisy during the day if you open the windows but thats part of the experience. There were fans and AC in the room. However it was ideally suited to explore the old city. I spent half day walking around the city and saw so many temples and beautiful old heritage places. The manager was very helpful and the staff were friendly and thoughtful. We loved our Gujarati breakfast. The haveli does not provide other meals but you can order food online and they will provide dishes and cutlery. There is night market for street foods nearby. Just be careful with your belongings. The staff are happy to make tea/coffee when you want. Down side was leakage in the shower block, and leaky water spray in the toilet. However these were fixable minor plumbing issues. There is parking issue as the old city has many narrow streets that are not suitable for cars. It is perfect if you use local rickshaws.

I stayed at this property twice with my group of travellers. The first visit was great. Mukesh, Mohan, Dattu were kind and helpful . The second visit was not great, we felt like unexpected guests. Rooms were not well prepared to receive guests. The food was prepared for one of the owners and unpalatable for our western taste. The bathrooms with three beds require an upgrade.. drainage is not good. The guest bathroom on ground floor smells very strongly of moth balls.very unpleasant. Attention to detail required in all rooms, I requested fresh towels as the ones we had were gray and hard. Perhaps these youngsters need a few more hospitality skills.

Beautiful restored heritage property. The main bedroom with king size bed was good. The other two rooms with three bedrooms per room need refreshing . Coffee was good. We stayed here twice in February. First stay was great. Second stay didn’t make the grade…it seemed as if the staff were not expecting us. Rooms were not prepared in our arrival. Bathrooms in the 3bed rooms need an upgrade. Water does not drain well in shower. The staff are lovely but seem to lack the relevant training on how to receive and welcome guests. Most staff have little English so communication not great.

It so pleasant

The building is beautiful and my room was lovely. Peaceful and well-located. It is not that easy to find.....or maybe it was me! Although the building is in a main street location, for some reason the address is not easy to recognise but please don't let that put you off, it is well worth it!

Superb

Fantastic location in the Unesco protected city center. Beautiful ancient Hawali Even though I do not see it as a priority: Having absolutely no service in the room (clean, make beds, empty trash) felt a bit weird after a few nights.

Not catered for elderly people.Crowded location.Too stuffy.Given a room in the attic despite very early booking.Was nothing like the description given. Everything except the staff were really humble though things didn't seem to be in their control.

The heritage building only It is neglected , unloved The manager is very sweet and does his best but there is no interest in running this place as a hotel. It was simply a restoration project . Very expensive to stay here and little value for that money. Should be a third of the price I would not stay here again Also plumbing needs maintenance , it is dusty and lacks attention to detail
