Nice big room in a hostorical hotel. The staff were very helpful, friendly, and accomodating. The common areas were nicely decorated and comfortable. The area outside the hotel was the old town and very much 'hustle and bustle' and noisy. Breakfast was a little overpriced and we had to travel a distance to get to eateries and places of interest.

Authentic souvenir and very nicely designed building

The location is great and is a lovely property with large rooms. Unfortunately the staff is not trained. For some staff it was their first day or first week of work. We arrived Saturday night. The manager was not there on Sunday . Everything at breakfast time was a mess and disorganized . Coffee took 45minutes and what we got was a packet of Nescafé instant coffee ! Eggs were undercooked , when we sent them back the cook walked out of the kitchen . We had to go inside to make our toast , get the cutlery etc etc. The kitchen was filthy and unhygienic . The floors , counters , fridge , toaster , sink , cabinets was covered with stains and dirt . The dish cloth was a piece of an old cut up sheet ! It is clear that this place is not run ethically . It is over priced and a complete rip off with the risk of getting very very sick !

Beautiful heritage hotel with large rooms and great location. Staff super helpful - special mentions to Satyam, Satyan, Ashok and Dhruv. Satyam especially worked hard at breakfast! The gardens are also beautifully maintained. Breakfast service was slow - not because the staff weren’t working hard but because there maybe needed to be more staff working.

It was extremly noisy at some nights (wedding season) as the windows are old, there is absolutely no sound protection.

We loved the location and the beautiful property. We were very comfortable. Most of the staff were gracious and accommodating with the one exception of a confrontational condescending staff who did not listen to his customers was resistant to making the charge clear. We observed some unsanitary practices in the kitchen

The bungalow has charm and has been well maintained. They have pride in the premises and their sterling reputation. When we arrived they helped us get on internet immediately and easily. The concierge arranged a driver for our travel day, and the driver was exceptional as he listened to what we wanted and made suggestions and we conferred on changes easily. There is much to see in this expanding city—and we were close to many historic sites. The cook listened to the small requests when preparing food—which had excellent presentation and delicious tastes! Any time we had questions, someone was available to answer. I highly recommend the Diwans Bungalow as a wonderful place to stay. For us, it was perfect.

We had a lovely 3 night stay in just Diwans Bungalow in Ahmedabad. It is a beautiful and peaceful mansion with a nice garden, hi dden inside the busy streets of the old city. The room was big , tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. Service was good and friendly and the breakfast was excellent. Tasty homemade lunch or dinner are available on request. Highly recommended! I liked all of it

The room and atmosphere are great

Heritage Charm: The bungalow’s authentic 150-year-old architecture and interiors offer a unique, immersive experience—far different from the usual hotels. Staying here truly feels like stepping back in time, with original wooden furniture and vintage décor beautifully preserved. Central Location: Being situated in Raikhad, at the heart of the old city, meant all major markets and the railway station were within easy reach, making it very convenient for shopping and business. Warm Hospitality: Mr. Mahendra Chaudhary and his staff deserve special mention for their welcoming and flexible approach. We arrived quite early (before 8 AM), and they accommodated our check-in without hesitation or any extra charges—an exceptional gesture. Modern Comforts Blended with Tradition: While maintaining its old-world charm, the bungalow has been updated to include modern comforts such as air conditioning and well-appointed bathrooms, ensuring a comfortable stay What I Didn’t Like City Noise: Due to its location in a crowded part of the old city, outside noise—car honking, motorcycles, street life—was clearly audible until late evening. A higher level of soundproofing would really help light sleepers. Wi-Fi Connectivity: The hotel’s complimentary Wi-Fi was sometimes weak in our room, likely due to limited access points. Upgrading this with additional routers or better coverage would greatly improve the experience, especially for guests needing reliable internet.

Everything, from start to finish, superb.

Gorgeous rooms, clean, shower base recessed into the ground so no wet floor in bathroom. Staff all friendly, helpful and welcoming. Great food and peaceful location

Almost everything. The furnishings and grounds were wonderful, the staff totally focussed on making our stay enjoyable. Packing lunch for us for a train trip. Not much! The breakfast waiter didn’t know there was a menu so attempted to tell us verbally, there were issues with the card payment machine which should have been identified and fixed by front desk staff earlier

Loved the stay! The staff is professional and courteous. The newly renovated rooms are beautiful! * The F&B team should be trained to maintain standards, I had 5 breakfasts at the hotel and only once did I get a table mat. * The F&B team skirts at making even things on the menu unless you preorder

It’s on a busy road but once inside you can’t hear the traffic.
