Baymont by Wyndham Chicago/Alsip

This was a good option for our overnight stay to catch an early flight in Chicago the next morning. Both individuals working the front desk were very helpful and pleasant. Parking was free and it was not too far from Midway. The only downside was the hallway carpet looked like it could use a deep clean.

The king efficiency was a fantastic room. Was large and spacious and fit all 5 of us. It has a full kitchen and even a dishwasher. I would stay again hands down. Also locations was great being just minutes from several stores and plazas.

Maid staff is outstanding.

The bathroom cabinet and wardrobe are the only updated items in the room, the 32 inch tv and 80s carpet were quite a turn off. Our mattress was split in many levels of foam. The "hot" breakfast was only biscuits and gravy.

Rooms were stinky not recommended

Tv is much smaller than images show. Bring an air freshener. Expect long waits and very little assistance from staff. Beds were very stiff but there were clean sheets. Noticed fruit flies coming from drains once we arrived.

Exceptional

The low star rating is directly because of management at this property. I drive all over the continental US and stay at hotels in most states. $50 incidental fee and not allowing the card that the room was booked under, to pay the fee is ridiculous. So they tell you to use cash only then it's $100. The hotel itself is great. Staff also.

Bad

Dirty specially carpets smell tribble , if plan to take shower need to hold your breath its cold i told the reception. Told me we have only 2 boilers so they know the issue didnt do any thing about it ….bad service !!! One of the worst i cant even call it a motel !!!!!

The electricity went out (yes I know it’s not their fault, but also not mine). They wouldn’t even call the GM to ask about giving me my money back for the next 3 nights that I prepaid for. I had to call corporate and they transferred me. It was stressful and ridiculous! We stay there every year for summer smash. Never again!

When we arrived for check-in the hotel looks old from the outside, it had windows screens laying on the floor. Inside was old and not as pictured. The receptionist then tells us that they had no electricity since the day prior and that they didn’t know when it was going to be back on. She said we wouldn’t have hot water either. An email or call the day before would have been nice so we could have looked for another room. Everything close by was booked due to the festival and we ended up having to pay a lot more for another hotel, it was very stressful.

No real selection. The power was out when I checked in. Staff were rude. They took my deposit, then lied and said they gave it back even though my bank says different. The staff Arianna was extremely rude and unprofessional.
