We chose the hotel carefully even though we were staying only one night. We especially liked the immediate proximity to the lake, and we chose a room with a view of the lake and a balcony. We loved the charm of the building and the amenities. The breakfast was also wonderful. The only thing we didn't like--and it is a major factor and very much influenced how much we enjoyed our stay (or didn't)--and that is that the people in the adjoining room (we were in room 32, they were in room 31), which also had a balcony, smoked cigarattes all evening and well into the night, finally going inside the room shortly before 2 am. We wanted to keep our windows and doors open to enjoy the cool night air, but the smoke was so heavy and disturbing that that was impossible, and still the smoke came into our room. In addition, the woman chain-smoking on the balcony coughed loudly and constantly, adding to the very difficult situation. We realize that smoking is officially allowed on balconies, but with the rooms so close, the hotel should consider banning smoking on balconies as well, as it is banned inside the rooms. The cigarette smoke really did spoil what would have been a beautiful stay.

The breakfast was great ,the location even better The unit building we were staying had a very strong smell of heavy smokers as you entered the building ,this smell was noticeable even in our room and waking up the next morning the strong smell was even more noticeable. This was very off putting and made our stay a disappointment. We told staff in the morning and they told us that they would have been happy to give us an other room .All in hindsight. I greatly appreciate the Suggestion
