It’s clean, close to every city attraction and to bus/metro/train station. Can’t be more satisfied with a hostel.

Great place. The people at reception are always friendly and gentle. The place has nice areas to connect and work or just relax. Great location too. The only thing that can be improved is to have a place or something to prepare food, or at least a freezer to store food. And also, the beds are a kind of closed box, not recommended for claustrophobic people. It would also be good to have more plugs in the work areas to plug in laptops. Cleaning could also improve, in rooms with 26 people the bathrooms should be cleaned more often

The atmosphere was very peaceful and quiet. The bathroom facilities were clean and not crowded during my stay. I slept in the 26 person room but you don’t feel like there are so many people in there. The only thing that was annoying were the drunk tourists outside that were very loud.

Bathroom was super clean but would be good to add hooks to hang things and put my stuff. Or an area just to be able to put things while I'm in the bathroom/shower. No complaints other than that tbh, the place was great

    - Very convenient location. Close to the train station and many attractions (FYI: it is located in the red light district) - Friendly staff - Breakfast was very good (extra charge) - The pods can get very hot inside even with the window of the room is open and the air is flowing - You have to make your bed upon arrival - There’s a lack of surfaces everywhere: no shelf inside the pod, no tables or chairs in the dorms, no chairs, tables or benches in the bathrooms (only a small board and a couple of hooks on the wall by the showers) - They water down the hand soap (I even saw one of the cleaners doing it)

Tried to charge extra for leaving 40 mins after check out time!

I couldn’t stay more than a day because I had unexpected plans. I still had 6 days left that I had paid for and they wouldn’t give me a refund of a partial amount of it. Also there wasn’t air conditioning and it was really hot and hard to sleep at night

The staff were very lovely from the second you get there, very easy to talk to and give superb advice about recommendations around Amsterdam!

Noisy rooms, shaky floors, slamming doors, 28 people crammed in one room (info is hidden while booking, so you are shocked when you receive email that you are booked in 28-people room). I’m waiting for the hostel to reply how they offered me another room after I had already abandoned my reservation and left. As if another room would have been any consolation for the sleepless night or any help for those remaining 27 persons who still have to suffer through the same room. Also, I was immediately irritated by the nosy receptionist who wouldn’t allow me to sit quietly while I was waiting for my check-in time and suggested no less than 3 times to go pray in the chapel. What the heck? How is this any of their business, just because it’s called Christian hostel?

Living the experiencie of The Red Light District

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

Unfortunately, the noise level was extremely high. There was a lot of loud noise throughout my stay, and many guests were not respectful of others. It made it very difficult to relax and get a good night’s sleep. I really hope the hotel takes better measures to ensure that guests respect the quiet hours.

Loved how central the location is; walk outside and you're in the heart of the city. There's also a little supermarket nearby - an Albert Heijn, that'll keep you stocked up on snacks. I was also surprised by the dorm room. I stayed at the 28 person dorm, and I was surprised at how manageable it was. I'm usually an awfully light sleeper, but with the capsule design you barely noticed anyone else. So it comes recommended if you're also a light sleeper. I was there during the 2026 summer heatwave and it got awfully hot and stale in the capsules. If only there was some sort of airflow you could get with the curtains closed.
