The room was clean and comfortable for a night, but the property was definitely not the most well maintained. Door to my room was difficult to open and close properly. By the time I got to breakfast, they seemed to be out of most things, including coffee, so probably best to get there early if it's a busy time of year

It was a decent place to stay for the night before heading out. Close proximity to the airport.

Room was freshly remodeled. Just didn’t realize it was a micro-room. So small that the bathroom sink was next to the bed instead of in the bathroom. I travel for work very regularly. Considering the space they had to work with, they did a pretty good job. It was at least 30% less money than my normal places I stay. It was just me in the room, so manageable. If I had brought my wife, I would have definitely needed a larger room. They may have bigger rooms, that’s just where they put me.

The room was in poor condition - cracks in the flooring and the window was painted shut. Insufficient security locks on the door inside the hotel room. A big sign in the parking lot that hotel is not responsible for auto break-ins or theft. Did not make me feel safe. The room smelled a bit of old socks. The breakfast was spartan. The bed and bedding were fine. Managed to get some sleep.

There were some nice things about this place but overall, it was just not good. The curtains barely covered the window, which was ab issue since it was light outside all night, making it difficult to sleep. The AC was erratic. The shower didn't work so we had to take tub baths. One cup of coffee for a double room for 5 nights. No convenient places to plug in electronics. Only one nightstand. Refrigerator froze everything, no housekeeping, airport shuttle canceled without notice, breakfast options often ran out by 8am.

Our room was so small, it was only good for sleeping or taking a shower. No room even for luggage. Should have been a lot less expensive for sure. And the corner of the bathroom has never been cleaned.

We flew into Anchorage a couple days early before our cruise out of Seward. We were supposed to stay at the convention center which closed down permanently This ended up being a last minute booking, I thought the place was quaint and really nice. It's been renovated and the lobby is very lodge like. They serve a nice breakfast every morning and have transport to and from the airport. The grounds are well kept with beautiful flowers all around the property (this was in June). Downtown Anchorage is just a short Uber ride away. I think The Puffin Inn is perfect for it's price point.

It’s important that people know that there is a remodeled section and a portion that needs to be updated. The pictures show the updates portion. That being said the older rooms are older, not that clean, and the bathroom door hinge was not connected to the door frame. Also the handle on the shower did not turn properly so I had to really force it to get hot water. Finally, the hotel location is close to the airport but not in the nicest part of town.

Price was reasonable

It's a little bit sketchy with how the buildings are separated out. Someone knocked on my door at 2AM.

The room was outdated. Mattress was not even. The room had an odor. The staff was extremely helpful with information needed and instructions.

Chomping & chowdered restaurant near was very good food

The room has a very bad smell

staff very helpful; breakfast was good, eggs, fruits and yogurt available; It has an added bonus of free airport transfer anytime of the day; Small maintenance issues, as the sink drainage needs unblocking at room 1221, could easily be sorted. One thing to improve would be to provide two chairs in the room instead of only one currently. Would recommend this place
