Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast menu offered many choices and was well presented. Room could have been better cleaned each day. Had to ask for Kleenex tissues as it was not automatically replaced.

Rooms was OK, but not great. Low Temperature of thermostat was limited to 23 C. Room was hot when we arrived. Restaurant was not great for the price. I ordered beef, and found it very chehel and medium quality.

The location in Angouleme, the fabulous deluxe room was so spacious for 3 adults, a bar fridge with complimentary drinks and snacks. The amazing front reception who did their best to find rooms available for early check in. We were there for a family wedding and so many friends flew in for the wedding. Everyone seemed to get their rooms earlier than the 4pm check in. The Library was a great meeting place and the bar was very obliging to provide buckets of ice in the high 36C weather! A memorable stay that we didn’t want to leave. Nothing

The only complaint was the room was so hot

We stayed in the deluxe garden view room. Large room, comfy beds, big tv, great view over garden and the valley below Angouleme. Robes, slippers, coffee and tea in room. Nuxe bath products. Dined in hotel restaurant and had a great meal. Very secure and easy parking. Right in the old town area with many monuments to enjoy. Front desk staff was personable and capable. I could find no fault with the accommodation and stay. Located in a great old building and oh so very French in architecture and atmosphere.

this was our third visit. Room overlooked garden and was well equipped. Dinner was very good with suitable choices on the menu. Bar service was good. Most staff were courteous and helpful. Room safe was basically unusable as it was on the top shelf of the cupboard at the back. Scraped my wrist on shelf edge - you would need to be near 2 metres tall to be able to see into safe. Maintenance staff were informed but nothing happened.

Lovely hotel. Great welcome from Reception, excellent service in the restaurant, both in the evening and in the morning. Our dog was welcome everywhere, especially in the hotel gardens! The bed was comfortable and we were right on the edge of the Old Town of Angoulême.

Good location Would be nice to have had bottles of water in the room and tea variety was disappointing

It was a nice clean hotel

We had a quiet room overlooking the garden. The room was very poorly equipped to put away and hang clothes so we had to live out of suitcases, in total contrast to two much cheaper simpler hotels we stayed in earlier which had very well organised storage and hanging space and space for wash bags etc in the bathroom. We had only 3 hangers and none for trousers, but fortunately were able to ask housekeeping. Although there was a kettle there were only paper cups - again unlike the simpler hotels which provided glasses and mugs. The paper cups got soggy and were not replenished. .No fridge. The front desk personnel were not always present and there was a side entrance to the hotel courtyard which was not visibly monitored. Indeed we gave up.our attempt to get a drink there. All this discouraged us from trying the expensive buffet breakfast or the cheaper alternative. Lots of local cafes. The hotel seemed geared to conferences and events.
