The location a bit far from Ao Nang beach.

Easy to access Very kind owners Comfortable beds ⭐Owner also provided with small breakfast each morning and best fried eggs I have ever tried! Definitely worth the stay, if you enjoy a more quiet surrounding but close to markets, 7-eleven, cafes and even massage salons. To Ao Nang beach around 15min drive. To get to the room, there are stairs. If you have big luggage, may be problem, but for us it wasn’t a problem

The beds were a little bit firm and the guesthouse isn't in the most walkable or convenient location to get into town or the beach. It was about a 25 minute walk to get to the town/night market/beach. However, if you want to be a little outside of the busy town, it is a great spot and great value!

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful - turning the floor fans in our direction when we sat in the lobby, frying eggs in the mornings, etc. . Room was large and well furnished, with effective (and most welcome) AC. On a busy road, some distance from the beach. Road noise throughout the night. Not enough to cause sleeplessness, but noticeable in a room facing the road. We did find quieter backroads for a more pleasant walk to the beach. The included breakfast was very basic and didn't vary day to day.

The hosts were very friendly, kind, and generous and made the guest house feel like home. They helped us figure out local plans, watched our luggage. It was super safe for single travelers, it is ten min walk from the beach, and also close to the pier to go islands. Stay at Ban Thara made my travel very easy, safe, and comfortable. There was nothing to not like

I am so glad I stayed at Baan Thara far away from main street where all ugly resorts are… crowd and super noisy . This place is so nice, where the locals live, super clean and with super nice staff!

Wonderful Staff: Even with a bit of a language barrier, the team was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Peaceful Nights: Despite being near the action, the street stays quiet at night, which is a huge plus for a good night's sleep. Solid Location: It’s a manageable 7–10 minute bike ride to the main Ao Nang area, and having a 7-Eleven within walking distance is super convenient. Generous Perks: They provide unlimited mineral water, and the breakfast is satisfying and well-suited for backpackers. Clean & Comfy: Both the room and bathroom were spotless. The bed was clean and very comfortable—always a relief after a long day of exploring. Lobby Odor: There was a noticeable, unpleasant smell in the lobby area that wasn't very inviting. Uninvited Guests: I did find some mosquitoes in the room, so be sure to pack some repellent or keep the doors shut tight!

Wonderful big and clean room and very generous and helpful host. Great value. Nice coffee and continental breakfast. Off the tourist track so a longer walk or tuk-tuk into the heart of town We were good with that. Great food (and incredibly inexpensive -$15 total) at a local restaurant just 50 yards up the road. We had dinner there 3 of 4 nights.

We had a wonderful stay at Baan Thara Guesthouse. The room was huge, clean and comfortable. A/c worked well. The owner or manager was so nice and helpful to us. Helping us to rent a scooter the first day, storing our bags. Breakfast was simple but did the trick for us every day. Fresh eggs, toast, fruit and good coffee. Location is just about 5-7 minutes by scooter or taxi to the beach and 10 to the landmark night market which was a lot of fun and also very close to where you can rent a long tail boat for yours. We enjoyed our stay. Location is a little away from elsewhere and a bit noisy from the road but the value is still great.

It smells bad most of the time. Not inside the room

I liked that it was not in the main party and nightlife strip downtown. It was a quick 5 minute ride (or 30 minute a walk) to the central market. Everything was great! Only question was about turning over the room and cleaning out the waste bins. I was there a week and I guess they don’t turn over the rooms regularly so my waste bin got full.

Highly recommended accomodation in Ao Nang. I believe they are one of the best value for money stays in the area. The rooms are very clean, spacious and cosy. The staff are the highlight. They are some of the nicest people who will provide to all your needs. Nothing to dislike.

Owners are so nice! they also rent scooters to a very good price. (Fun fact they have the cutest 3 legged cat)

The staff was very friendly and helped us renting a motorcycle quickly. The location was good, and the value you get for what you pay is also good. Recommended!!

The staff were really lovely and chill. The rooms are basic but clean and large with good lighting. There are loads of authentic and cheap Thai restaurants within walking distance. So much better than the touristy ones in Ao Nang centre. Definitely worth staying out here if you want somewhere away from the main tourists but still only a couple of min to the beach by scooter. Some rooms face the main road so if traffic noise is a concern probably message them asking for one that doesn’t face this way.

From start to finish the owner goes out of his way to make it your best stay yet! Such nice staff that are super attentive. The breakfast was simple but great. The rooms were very spacious. The location is super convenient. They even offer moto rental for amazing prices per day. Would come back any day!!! couldn’t name a thing

The staff and the guesthouse's services made our stay memorable and our trip easier! From moto rental to breakfast, laundry service, shuttles and advice on moving around. The room is spacious and the neighbourhood filled with local delicious food. Special thanks to Lek, for helping us navigate the province with a big smile and a kind heart.
