1st time staying at Callahans what amazing discovery. Our room was top notch and had everything that one would need. Had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, wow the food was amazing, the chef was top notch. 100% recommended staying here. Definitely will be going back.

The rooms were updated cabin-style; I was on the ground floor (have a dog) which gave very easy access to beautifully maintained grounds (for people with a spot for dogs too). Staff were uniformly nice, and most had obviously been there for several years. We had a light dinner on the patio with Skeeter Gal, and a lovely breakfast inside with her (rather chilly outside). All-in-all, I loved everything and will definitely return.

The staff was also so notable for their friendliness and warmth, from the check-in person, to the woman who made my cocktail, to my amazing waitress. I was on my own after dropping my only child off at college, and this place was just what I needed to relax for the night. I would have loved to have stayed a week. If you're looking for a getaway in a gorgeous location, Callahan's Lodge is the place.

Our room's ceiling bulbs were very dim, there were no labels on the hvac controls, the water pressure dropped to zero one morning, and some if the window blind cords were broken, but the room was clean and spacious, the grounds were quiet and peaceful, the bed was comfortable, there were plenty of clean linens, and the minifridge had a separate, frostfree freezer compartment. The staff were courteous and friendly, and they welcomed iur dogs ($25 addl fee each per night).

The staff is AMAZING! The first room had an issue, but they were very quick and accommodating. We are already planning our next visit.

We have stayed here several times. They stopped the continental breakfast and now have a breakfast menu. We are plant based...and there was nothing we could have ordered, and nothing close by. The jacuzzi tub was not working either. We really love staying here, and the staff was very accommodating to our needs. We stayed 4 nights..

The bed was wonderful Restaurant food was delicious but extremely slow. The shower head did not have any pressure.
-
The view from the panoramic room was amazing! The restaurant staff was amazing to my puppy, they brought her a dog bed and a water bowl.

Beautiful place, not much around but the views were awesome and the in house bar and restaurant had lovely options.

Walking down the hall to our room it reminded us of the Overlook hotel in the Shining. There's a fine line between Rustic and Dirty. Walls and baseboards of hallway were stained and dirty, Carpet was dirty with food on the ground. To get to our room we had to go pass the Kitchen and overstock area which had the doors open and we got to see the workers behind the scenes - which was odd. Once we got a key that worked we entered the room: Fireplace was not cleaned and ash was on the ground and surrounding the fire place. The bed spread has yellow stains on the bottom of the sheets. The carpet was dirty. One of the bathroom sinks did not drain and the shower had some kind of lotion or shampoo on the bottom. Sharing a balcony was odd as your neighbors could come right out and up to your window and they had two big dogs they kept on the balcony - so we couldn't use that when they were out. Callahan's should put up dividers. Dinner was good though there were lots of wasps so we moved indoors to hear the live music which was so loud we couldn't hold a conversation. The waitress seemed a little scatter-brained. Breakfast - my wife had to pour her own coffee and waiting an hour for someone to take her order which arrived with mushy watermelon. Also - our room key ended up not working two more times - three trips back to the front counter for new keys because we couldn't get in.

This was such a fun place. I was lucky to be here on the weekend. They had a band both nights and the food and service were top notch. Shout out to Miguel and his martini skills! This hotel is super pet friendly and treated my pup as a guest. The views are amazing as well as the grounds. I highly recommend this establishment!!

Callahan’s is old school charm in rural acreage. Staff were all helpful and friendly. Our room was large and the bed was very comfortable. The lodge is in a truly lovely setting. They may be planning a renovation. The first place to start is the restaurant. Their pricing, menu offerings and quality are all over the place. It’s an important asset to get right given their location.

Spa Service very slow. Not much menu variety.

I have been going to this resort in the mountains for over a half century. My wife and I spent the night, had dinner and breakfast: we watched the Perseid meteor shower from the top of nearby Mt Ashland. From cocktails on the wonderful expansive decks to a tasty scallop dinner choice, it was a wonderful evening….. The room was standard but was expansive and tastefully decorated with mountain themes. The staff truly wanted us to have a great time. Consider this resort for a mountain get away……

We wish we found this gem earlier for our road trip! It is a definitely a must visit :)

Great find. Highly recommend over any other comparably priced option in the area by far.

The staff were so welcoming and genuinely excited to celebrate our anniversary getaway with us! The happy hour menu was fantastic, and we absolutely loved our beautiful room and the relaxing jetted tub. Such a wonderful stay—we can’t wait to come back!
