Orchida St. George Hotel

Extremely dated room, shower head low pressure, limited hot water supply

Very nice staff, the room is basic but has everything you need. Location is great, other than the normal tours I really enjoyed walking around Aswan Old Souq that is next to Orchida and had delicious falafel there, some of the best I had in Egypt. The Orchida has seen better days. It needs some maintenance, slow wifi (but at least there is wifi in the room which is rare in Egypt!) and shower not consistently hot. All typical problems in Egypt, nothing majorly inconvenient.

Well located, in the heart of Aswan. The crew was awesome with us. The installations are old, but everything was functional. We had a great view of the zone, including Nile river. I would repeat the accommodation if I return Aswan anytime. The pool was not available.

Staff was nice and helpful. Got us a tour to Abu Simbel at a fair price. Room was very cold, and the AC didn't work. The mattresses were totally torn apart :(. Very expensive for fair for what was offered.

I really liked this place! I found my room cosy and it was great to have a river view, fridge and instant hot water for the shower. The staff were so friendly and communication was always authentic and smooth. I did not get a chance to jump in the pool, but I did relax on the lovely rooftop – which conveniently also has bathrooms and sun loungers – for a spectacular view towards the souk and the hills. Around the corner to the left when leaving the hotel there is a nice coffee place to relax and behind the hotel going towards the souk lots of friendly people and a great falafel stand. If I ever go back to Aswan, I would book here.

It asked for almost 30% VAT and service charge.

The staff were friendly and helpful. We had to move rooms twice to get the family room we paid for. Aircon didn’t work too well in one of the rooms where we slept.

Do not stay here. This is the filthiest hotel I have ever stayed at. Even the bedding was dirty! The shower and toilet were broken. The lift was broken and added to this you cannot access direct from the street but have to walk up a number of flights of steps The filth and the access

The location is slightly uphill you have to climb few stairs, but very close to the elephantine island ferry stand and is very near to the markets The price is way too high for the services provided, should atleast 15 dollar less

Near to Nile river shops and restaurants are near by...Place is average but it justifies the price Electric kettle is not there, but they provided hot water
