Unfortunately, an hours long power outage on the morning after we arrived inconvenienced me and my companions/friends stay, we were in the dark for a long time which caused our plans to be very delayed for that day. My room did not have a walk in shower, it had an ADA tub that I could not climb into for safety reasons. We had to switch rooms and it took hours for the staff to accommodate the changing/transfer of rooms. All in all I was very disappointed because the friends I went with were also inconvenienced and it was their first time visiting. I was surprised that we weren't offered any type of a complimentary breakfast or really anything for the huge inconvenience. The premises were very nice and beautiful, however the glitches during our stay put a damper on our time there. I truly feel that we should have received some type of refund for the inconvenience that we endured.

Our second stay at the Carlton. Love the location, the hotel decor/architecture. The King bed w/ pull out couch room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable on a hot weekend - and the tub was so relaxing. Enjoyed the Poisoned Apple (a 1 minute walk) so much that we went three times! Easy walk to the central park area where they have so many fun events. We will be back!

The location is great just off the highway and the town has many dining spots.

Beautiful historic hotel with lots of personality. Nice size bathroom and generous size room with a bathtub. Minor complaint is the pillows need to be refreshed. Front desk staff are friendly and efficient. They have some gift items and tasty chocolate bars for sale. Easy to park right around the hotel.

It is a beautiful hotel. However, it is best to not stay on the freeway side of the hotel. Not because of the freeway noise but because of the bar/nightclub across the street.

M first time in Atascadero. Very warm and helpful staff. The hotel has clearly been recently remodeled and everything feels new and very, very clean and ready for customers. The hotel has super-easy access from US101 and parking right across the street. I plan to stay at The Carlton again when I next visit!

What a splendid hotel!!! Gorgeous historic property with all the latest amenities. Every room is beautifully decorated, as is the lobby. Our room had a lovely private area on the patio. Staff was warm and welcoming and very helpful. Location is terrific - within walking distance to a variety of dining experiences. Wish we had stayed more than one night. Highly recommended!!!!!!!
