Nema Hotel Athens

When I made a booking for a standard room there was no warnning that the room will not have a day light. Having a window that is faced to a tall wall is absolutly something that I should know before booking.

We were really excited to stay here, especially given the price, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to our expectations. The hotel itself has a beautiful aesthetic and is thoughtfully designed, but the experience fell short in several important areas. The shower floor was extremely slippery and felt like it hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly. The bathroom exhaust fan was covered in dust and didn’t work at all, and the air conditioning in our room was also not functioning. During the Athens heat, that made for a very uncomfortable stay. While the design of the room was attractive, the bathroom layout was impractical and not very user-friendly. Overall, the hotel looks great in photos, but for the premium price we paid, we expected much better maintenance, cleanliness, and comfort. Unfortunately, we don’t feel the value matched the cost. 1. The position was 10/10 in Monastiraki close to everything. 2. The room was a junior suite and was a good size. 3. The bed was very comfortable 1. The air conditioning was sub par. It took the heat off the room but it was not up to western standards when the weather outside was 33 degrees. 2. The shower leaked, which is pretty normal for European hotels, but there were not enough towels to mop up the inevitable water on the floor after every shower. 3. The staff were constantly inquiring into every aspect of our stay to the point that it felt like our privacy was breached. We really felt uncomfortable. I’ve never experienced anything like it before in many years of hotel stays. Having said that, the staff were mostly friendly. 4. However on day 2 my partner and I were verbally upbraided by a female staff member at breakfast for storing some eggs which we had bought, in the bar fridge of our room. How this made any difference to her I don’t know. But the next day she apologised and offered to buy us coffees which were not part of the breakfast menu. 5. The breakfast was good, but I always felt like they were slow to fill up once levels were getting low. If you got to breakfast late there wasn’t much left to eat

The breakfast was very good. The champagne given to celebrate the anniversary of 2 of our family was very thoughtful. The older staff person setting up the breakfast was very unfriendly and not helpful.

Staff, the hotel is super nice and accommodating. Ample breakfast and choices each day. Area is quieter than most in Athens as it is on a pedestrian only street. Rooms are quite small but for two people it’s fine for a few nights. I could not get the air-conditioning to work properly to cool off the room. It was much warmer than the hallway.

Breakfast was a bit weak and there was no coffee.

Great location for getting around Athens! Comfy bed, lovely and clean! Nothing - only slight improvement would be hot water for tea at breakfast. Tea bags were available but no hot water to make it.

Breakfast was good and staff interactions also very nice. Heavy rains admittedly caused the ceiling to drip water and the TV to lose signal which was not rectified for the last 3 days of my trip. Also there is a limit to how much economical you can be with your shampoo and soap allowance. Then it's just cheapness!

The room was fantastic! The huge balcony was a plus. They had remote control blinds and lights in the room as well!

The property is a small modern hotel with new smart rooms. It was spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly particularly the receptionists I remember Alexandra and Anastasia. They were very pleasant polite and helpful. The breakfast was exceptional, with a lovely variety of Greek delicacies. The place is quite close to Monstriaki and Ermou street and very close to the shops and restaurants. Would definitely come back on my next trip! The street was very quiet and dark at night. Otherwise no negative comments.

The staff is very efficient, very friendly, and very hard working making sure all guests get everything they need. Really great service by great people. They also gave a lot of great information and helped book a taxi to airport.

the fact there is no curtain or a door to the shower was quite annoying. other than that it was great

We had a great stay at this hotel. The location is very convenient, close to everything we needed. The breakfast was excellent with a good variety of options. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made check-in smooth and pleasant. Would definitely stay here again!

overall satisfied rooms are very small, not enough space open our luggage, we were tripping over them.
