Best Western Athens Inn

Checking in was easy. I got a room on the 2nd floor and there was no elevator, which was exhausting because I had been driving for 7 hours and arrived quite late, but at least the room itself was fairly clean. The pool looked a bit gross, not that I had any intention of using it. The bed wasn't as comfy as I'd like, but it did alright for one night. The location of the hotel right off the highway and near a Dunkin and Starbucks was nice.

Black mold in the bathroom and very outdated appearance.

This is a dated hotel and that’s understandable. The check in was great and the staff was nice and the morning breakfast employee was very nice and attentive to get fresh food out. But one of the morning staff members was rude and looked irritated when asked to fix a key card issue. The exercise room was pitiful and not very clean. Even though it was a Friday night the cost was very overpriced

Air conditioning was minimal, tub did not drain well, breakfast was blah. The staff were friendly, check in was quick, and the room was clean.

The breakfast was ok but it was limited because machines were broken. The carbon monoxide batteries were bad and constantly beeping, I had to replace them myself. The towels were musty and a few of them had a stain on them that looked like they were from a bowel movement. The door to get in did not work most of the time, we had to leave someone in the room to let us in. There was long black hair all over the floor, that wasn’t ours. There were a ton of bugs including, over 12 spiders, multiple roaches, and a ton of mosquitoes. The drains were clogged to where a couple minute shower left 3 inches of water, and that took over 30 minutes to drain.

Our room was filthy. I called down to the front desk which was not working. They ended up coming to our room. I had them remove a dead cockroach and the floors were filthy.There was food that had not been cleaned up by the refrigerator that we did not use. She then proceeded to tell me that they had just sprayed the unit.And we have our dog with us. That should have been told beforehand or I would never have taken that room. My dog got sick the nx morning & still not eating much. Overall, we had a okay experience.Except for the filthiness in our room. They did not offer to switch our room out or give us a full refund. Unfortunately, the next time we're in this area, we will not pick this best.Western.

The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff was pleasant. But the facility overall was just a bit down on its heals. The street-level room opened directly on to the parking lot. With all the loud trucks driving by it felt less safe than it should have. A human can barely squeeze into the bathroom. The towels were thin, the lighting dim and the "amenities" few. The desk chair seat was all cracked and worn. Looked like something that should have a "free" sign on it at the curb. This room was $10 less than another hotel we stayed in the previous night that got five stars. There is no comparison in terms of quality. We were ready to leave this place behind.
