Hampton Inn by Hilton Austin East Side 5th Street

The rooms facing the main drag off of 5th should have a warning about the church music building next door. They play music all the way until 5am or later and very loudly and disturbing.

Everyone was incredibly helpful and kind. Breakfast was tasty which was a bit of a surprise considering not a lot of hotel breakfast is anything to rave about. Hotel lobby and rooms were all very clean.

Gals at the Front Desk were super, but the "sliding barn door" for the bathroom means zero privacy for the person in the bathroom from all the occupants in the room. A little privacy would really go a long way! I don't know whose idea it was to have a 1" gap around the bathroom door, but they should be punished....

First time staying! It was so great, love the pool and area where it’s located. It’s in walking distance to a lot of food place.

The hotel was a great place to stay.

The room itself was nice and clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. We were on the train-track side of the building, so we did hear trains coming through during the day, but thankfully it wasn’t an issue at night. The pillows were not great, though. They deflated quickly and became misshapen, which made them a little difficult to sleep on. Parking was worth paying for, in my opinion. We used the parking garage and never had trouble finding a spot. The spaces were a little tight, but I was able to get in and out comfortably enough in my 2023 Tacoma. The biggest downside was the breakfast. Everything felt very processed or frozen, and nothing really felt like “real food.” I understand why hotel breakfasts are often done that way, but we only ate it once during our three-night stay and skipped it the rest of the trip. The TV channel selection was also pretty limited. We found one channel that played The Office on repeat and watched that once or twice, then used a laptop to watch a movie another night. All in all, aside from the breakfast, we felt like we got a great deal and that the stay was worth the money.

Amazing stay

The area looked kinda sketchy, but it is right downtown. The parking garage was pretty tight for our truck so we opted to park on the street right outside the hotel. Hotel itself was very nice and clean. Staff was great. Took us a few minutes to figure out that our room key turns on the lights (have never seen that before). Breakfast was amazing.
