Hostal Solimar

My room had a wonderful terrace overlooking some beautiful neighborhood back yards. Easily worth the price of the room by itself. Clean bathroom, comfortable bed. Great location and great price. Perfect for single traveler or light traveling couple. The night door code the hotel provided me did not work. Another guest finally came out of his room to let me in. Some obvious wear and tear in the room and furnishing but nothing that impacted my stay.

No place for smoking

It was not a pleasant experience for us at all, the room smelled very bad, was old and dirty and there was even some insects in the room which was the worse The first room they gave us had a washing sink like it was a toilet before!!! i asked that to be changed and they gave us another one but still far from being worth of what we paid.

Location, very convenient if u r coming by car to visit Barcelona, 10 min walk from metro station, 5 min walk from beach and shops. We will return definitely!! Nthg

The location is excellent. Easy access to the beach. A fair walk to the metro station, but not too bad. There are many options to eat, and there is a Carrefour Express near by where you can get basic goods. The place is a little bit small. Maybe for a couple is fine. I travelled with two small daughters. A little fridge inside the room could make the place a little bit better.

Location was very central and I think they take advantage of that First, I told them I would arrive past midnight and they sent me a night code to access the building. They sent me the wrong code. I stayed out hours. They did not have an emergency number. The next morning, when I informed them about it, they only said sorry. Second, the shower head was broken and the door of the shower was not properly sealed. After every shower, the door would be wet. The door of the bathroom did not close properly and the two small individual bed were uncomfortable for a couple. Last, from the room we could hear all the noises and conversations happening in the hall and the room around. We paid more two nights there than two nights in a night there in Barcelona. Not acceptable

Location was really good. It was difficult to find the room on the 5th floor. The room was really small. Water on the shower had low pressure so it wasn't easy to wash the hair.

Hostal is a little bit older, in room there is no space to dry towels and equipment from beach (just a little window). Very noisy, light doors and could hear at least two next rooms. Small room.

I found nothing to say

The reception isn't open 24/7, which is understandable, however it would have been quite convenient to have. The doors of the rooms get locked even without using a key, therefore it is very easy to lock yourself out of the room. I locked myself out of my room at night on accident and had to sleep in the hall for over 5 hours before I could get in. Not the hostel's fault necessarily, however it could have been averted if only the hostel had doorknobs which wouldn't lock themselves or if they had a 24/7 reception. Either way this was obviously my mistake and it is only a minor detail.

Great location, clean sheets, friendly staff. Walls are paper thin, you can hear literally everything from neighbouring rooms. Superior room photos seemed like they have a nice terrace, but you get this tiny balcony that can barely fit two.

Rooms are clean and spacious enough. Bedding is immaculate and fresh. Bed is extremely comfortable and everything is clean. Location is quiet and perfect for access to beach and shops. Loved everything about the hostel

I didnt like the fact that when we arrived the metallic door that you take up and down to access the balcony was not functional but they fixed it the next day. Also didn't like that the electricity went out the first day but they fixed that too

Location is good for us We knew the hotel so no surprises

That crying cat was waking me up every day at 5-6AM … haha
