The property was horrible. Young kids were allowed to swim in the swimming pool without parents. Throwing food in the Pole screaming, the bedding was not even proper for the beds. The air conditioner in the first room they put us in blew warm air. Finally, the second room they put us in was descent, but the betting was not proper. No ice machines.

Location and price Disappointed. No curtains, just wood shutters that left the room bright all night long. 3 pillows instead of 8 and small and square. Furniture had broken hinges and food crumbs in the drawers. Mini fridge was dirty and had red frozen soda drink frozen in the freezer. At least there was an ice machine.

They put me on do not rent for no reason. I left a skate board in the room and called to have it retrieved, and I left my room “trashed” when I picked up all my trash and everything. Sorry the housekeepers cannot do their job as the description says, I could’ve left it worse. But had kindness to do what I could by cleaning 90% of the room. As it is not my job as a customer Didn’t service my room but the first night I stayed the next morning they offered, other than that I didn’t have any other room service , and got DNR for trashy room. DO YOUR JOB

This place is okay. Staff was definitely 10/10. Super nice people. The room itself could’ve been smelled a lot better but the bed was comfy. There was 3 cockroaches at night so that was pretty gross and the area is filled with homeless people sleeping outside. Breakfast wasn’t included which was the reason why I booked here in the first place. If you’re looking for a place to crash real quick, you can save money here but maybe not preferred for a long time stay. Overall I have it a 4.5/10.

No breakfast door didn’t close right curtains did not close properly air conditioning was poor and barely worked
-
Outside grounds was poorly maintained, sidewalks were filthy dirty! A lot of dog poop in all grass areas! Homeless people hanging out in park lot areas! Advertised a free breakfast, but staff said the breakfast area has been closed for 2 months!

Location NO BREAKFAST AS ADVERTISED! NOT EVEN COFFEE!!
-
they no longer have free breakfast

Long story short if you want a room with fresh blood stains on the sheets from some “activities” by anyone in the area that could simply come and go as they please since the room doors are not locked. Maybe that explains the unusual amount of people just sitting around the property and the stairs. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. The pictures and the listing have nothing to do with the absolute horror story of a hotel that is.

Title: Roach infestation in Room 170 — unacceptable stay Review: I stayed at Vagabond Inn Bakersfield North in room 170 from August 2–5, 2026. The room had a serious roach infestation. I saw roaches throughout the room, including around the walls, floor cracks, bathroom corners, near the door, and around the wall next to the bed. I also experienced what appeared to be insect bites/skin reactions during and after my stay. I have photographs documenting the condition of the room and my injuries. The AC unit was badly damaged, and the room did not have a refrigerator or microwave even though I was charged approximately $60 per night. I reported the problem to the front desk, but I felt my complaint was not taken seriously. I was told that the owner would contact me, but I did not receive the help I expected while I was staying there. I have never experienced a hotel room in this condition before. I would not recommend staying in this room, and I believe the hotel should address the infestation and the condition of the room.

In poor condition near the homeless people at night. Did not expect that at all. Needs maintenance such as new floor, new paint, new bed, etc.. I wouldnt stay there again but it was cheap.
