very quiet little village.

Family-run hotel on the romantic but not kitschy side. Rooms are well maintained, very clean, beds not too hard, not too soft. Plus, you’ll find a teddy bear in every bed! Staff is exceptionally attentive and very friendly. The restaurant is on the pricey side but you’ll def get what you pay for- a fine dining German-French influenced menu plus a great selection of superb wines. All over we’ve had a pleasant stay, would 100% recommend.

Charming hotel on the Lahn with a teddy bear to welcome you in every room. In-house restaurant (which I didn't try) with an outdoor seating area. Came by bicycle and was able to store it in a locked garage opposite the main entrance. Room and bathroom were both clean. Balduinstein in on a quiet and hilly part of the Lahn, with some nice walks up the sides of the hills (views from a short climb just behind the hotel are very nice!). Relatively absent personel - was lucky one member of staff saw me arrive but the following morning I walked around the hotel for several minutes trying to find either the breakfast or a member of staff to tell me where it was! The breakfast (12.50) was fine, but I found the selection slightly on the small side compared to other hotels. Although this probably helps reduce waste! The restarant is not cheap (hence me not trying it) and other options in Balduinstein are limited - in the evening basically only the restaurant in Hotel Balduin, which was more affordable and perfectly fine.

It's a charming hotel in a picturesque small town, not far from Limburg. I stayed in a single room which was more spacious than I had expected and with a good bathroom. Everything was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and the bed linen seemed to be good quality. I ate in the hotel restaurant on the evening I arrived, and had a very good meal of cured salmon and Wienerschnitzel. The staff were also very good - attentive but not intrusive. The restaurant was really busy - much busier than the hotel - so you might need to book a place at the restaurant if you're staying and want to eat there. The weather was warm during my stay; and as room was above the hotel kitchen and the hotel does not have air conditioning, I had the windows wide open which meant a significant smell of frying food in the room. Also, breakfast was tasty enough but had quite a limited selection.
