Lovely hotel, room and grounds clean and nice room, good breakfast included. We enjoyed it. Only negative was the event that evening right outside our room. It was fun to listen to though lol.
-
Nice and well maintained proper old Inn, with very friendly and helpful staff.

Very clean the exterior is old

The linens etc were clean The rooms were a little shabby and filled with miss matched furniture. The widow didn’t close properly and was filled with paper due to the draft. The hot water was in my opinion dangerously hot

Welcoming staff, efficient check in, warm comfortable room, excellent quality of food at evening meal and breakfast, fabulous central location with free parking. no negatives at all

The fire in the barn. Lovely Bathroom very dated. Shower very small
-
Central to Banbury Cross Nothing comes to mind

Location and off road parking, cooked breakfast was really good The food was underwhelming on an evening, some staff rude, I didn’t eat on the last evening due to it taking forever, I waited for 1 hour and 30 minutes to eat a soup as part of a 3 course meal, I ended up getting a sandwich from Tesco as I gave up. Tv didn’t work, mould in the bathroom and pealing wallpaper on the ceiling and a very loud singer on a Wednesday evening until almost 11pm made me very tired for work the next day at 5am. Granted the singer was quite good, still frustrating though, I’d definitely choose a different hotel the next time I am there for work

Central location, breakfast included. It was noisy, though I was warned a few days in advance that Christmas parties were going on and that live music would play until 11.15 - earplugs were provided which helped, thanks.
-
Bathroom needs a little bit of TLC - wonky toilet seat, and taps difficult to turn on and off
-
Well located hotel in centre of Banbury, good breakfast options and very friendly staff. Reasonable distance to the train station if you need to get to London or Birmingham The only issue is the stairs to the room, however it is an old building so there are really no other options.

Having stayed at the Cromwell Lodge Hotel, my visit left a lasting and positive impression, and I can confidently say I was well and truly satisfied. The room was clean and tidy with a nice sized TV. Plenty of coffee, tea and even hot chocolate. My only sore point is the mattress was too soft for me, but could be okay with others. The experience began with the fantastic staff and impeccably professional and friendly team who made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Their attention too service created a wonderful atmosphere that was both relaxed and efficient. The food was a true highlight of my visit. The kitchen clearly operates to a high standard. Every dish was well presented, and crucially served piping hot. It’s a small detail, but one that speaks volumes about the care and quality put into each meal. Beyond the excellent service and food, the hotel's public areas were a delight. The space was very clean and tidy, with inviting furnishings that made for a comfortable and pleasant environment. It's clear the hotel takes great pride in its appearance, creating a welcoming backdrop for any occasion. Given the quality of the service and the smart public spaces, it's easy to see why the Cromwell Lodge Hotel is a popular choice for events. I am certain they could expertly cater for wedding receptions and any other large gatherings, ensuring a high quality experience for all guests. My experience with the staff, food, and the hotel was outstanding, making it a place I would happily recommend. Mattress was way to soft, a firmer mattress is recommended. But then it a soft mattress might suit others.

2nd stay at the Cromwell as well located, has a car park and breakfast is lovely. Staff are welcoming and helpful. Room 4 (dingle) should not be used as the noise from creaky floorboards and shower above is very loud as is sound traveling up from below. The shower above sounds like water is pouring through ceiling. I travel with ear plugs as the noise was intollerable without noise cancelation aids. I did let hotel staff know.

Uneven path from car park. Building work going on, of which we were unaware of before we arrived. Woken up by drilling (or something similar) at 07:50.Breakfast room very narrow (echoey) and therefore noisy. Cobwebs on bathroom window. Light coming in from under door.

Lovely restaurant service, delicious meals generously proportioned plates and loved the Sunday Roast with Yorkshire pudding, and the Sticky Toffee Pudding was awesome! Lovely spot! No hot water the first night, but as soon as we mentioned it to staff they were on it, a boiler had popped the breaker, and things were sorted in no time.
-
Good stay the Cromwell staff welcoming and attentive, Breakfast was very good and recommended. Due to the age of the hotel you do hear some floorboard noise at night from other rooms.
-
Excellent value for money. The staff were really helpful, nice breakfast and dinner. Clean rooms. A great base for visiting the Cotswolds.

Lovely character building but showing its age and looking a little tired - needs a little TLC.
