- contact number in Booking is of their main head office and not actually the hotel front desk which caused another difficulty in initially finding the place. - language difficulty is there but then can manage with using google translator. - staff very friendly and just next to MRT.
-
We can't get in the place because the key password was not working. The address from Google and the property wasn't sam. The phone number they gave the lady was yelling and said it not her hotel . And she didn't know anything about it.

Room not tally with pictures on the booking.com page. Staff suggested me to cancel and asked for refund, but after numerous attempts, they got my check out date wrong and wanted to charge me for 4 nights out of 6 nights (which i booked but stayed only 1 night). I suspected this is a scam. 1) On 30 January i checked in to Palette Travellers Hotel @Bangkok. I initially booked the hotel for 6 night (30/1 - 5/2). 2) i paid the full amount upon check in by credit card. 3) After checked in, i was dissatisfied as the room given isn't the same as published on Booking.com. 4) On 31 January I queried the staff at the counter and she told me that i can always cancel the reservation and asked for refund for the remaining 5 nights. She promised that the hotel will refund 100% but i need to notify Booking.com first. 5) I decided to cancel and checked out immediately on 31 January. 6) After multiple attempts i managed to get in touch with Booking.com staff and explained the situation. 7) On 3 February i received an email from the property saying that i checked out on 2 February and they will refund me for 3rd & 4th February. 8) i called the hotel manager and rectified that they got my check-out date wrong. 9) i also called Booking.com on the same day and notified the staff about the discrepancy. However the booking.com replied that he contacted the hotel and was confirmed that i checked out on 2 Feb. 10) i called the hotel manager again and again on 4 & 5th to explain to her. She claimed that Booking.com must call the hotel before she can get the things right. 11) I wrote to Booking.com on 5th Feb but no reply until today. 12) Could you take action to process with my refund ASAP please. If the hotel wants to charge me 1 extra night for penalty i can understand, but charging me 5 nights (which i have cancelled) isn't acceptable. This is too much and not fair for me. Good size of room, comfortable bed, easy access. Not very clean, found some cockroaches, very loud (either to main street or during week next to school), depending where you want to be mostly a bit far.

Friendly staff The room had a bad damp smell

As it used to be a more upmarket hotel there was very hot water in the shower as opposed to a small unit that doesn’t work very well. The shower is also fully screened so toilet doesn’t get wet. The staff member who checked me in was lovely and it’s location is close to the MRT The misleading name: there is nothing referring to “Palette” on signs or the business card or indeed on google maps. This hotel is called The Travellers Hotel with well earned reviews. Hence I ended up at The Palette Hotel in Bangkok very late and eventually, after much confusion, worked out I was at the wrong hotel. The hotel is on a very busy road and once apparently had a lot of Chinese tourists. The room smells unmistakably of smoke and was once good but now is shabby and cleaning could be improved. I am not sure why Booking.com lets them refer to 5*
