One of the best hotel for Halal stay The windows have no soundproof

Friendly Staff and helpful, clean, good and fresh breakfast Everything clean

I had to change my room because of the air conditioner. The location is not that great but the muslim friendly neighbourhood is worthy. The worst part for me was the constant ants. There are a lot of ants in the rooms so you can’t let any food, any crumb or else a hundred ants will appear but it’s the same everywhere in Thailand so I don’t know if they can do something about it …

Buffet AL Meroz Hotel Bangkok is officially classified as a five-star hotel. When I looked up what defines a five-star property, service is often implied rather than explicitly detailed. For me, true five-star service means staff are accommodating, generous, and solution-oriented — in short, they never say no. Unfortunately, that standard was not met during our stay. Within the first hour of arrival, we experienced several issues. Upon check-in, staff informed us that the hotel offers van service and that we simply needed to notify them 30 minutes in advance. However, when I called the front desk shortly afterward to request transportation, I was told the van was not available and that they could call a Grab for me — something I can easily arrange myself. That inconsistency set the tone. Also within the first hour: The toilet in our room was clogged. We had to request additional toilet paper and towels because the room was not adequately stocked. For a hotel carrying a five-star classification, these oversights are disappointing. Later in our stay, we needed a few documents printed and were charged 10 baht per page. While not a large amount, such small service gestures are typically complimentary at luxury properties, especially considering the room rate. We booked a twin room with breakfast and a vista. The room itself was acceptable, but the bathroom design was concerning. The bathtub lacked vertical handrails, making entry and exit genuinely dangerous. We slipped multiple times on the bathroom floor. This feels like a liability issue waiting to happen. The bathroom amenities — shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion — were of noticeably low quality and did not reflect a five-star standard. We used the “Do Not Disturb” light during our stay. Housekeeping left a note but did not provide fresh towels, water, or replenished toiletries. As a result, we had no additional towels, water, or amenities for the remainder of our stay beyond what we requested during our first hour.

I love everything from the hospitality, cleanliness and breakfast. Absolutely value for money. Will come back on our next thailand trip. I guess I don’t like that the location was far from the city.(around 30 minute ride to an hour if theres a traffic jam) but other than that, its great.

Need to upgrade stuff.

The water temperature in the shower was near lukewarm. I would have liked to have it warmer. The air conditioning fan rattled constantly, even after the maintenance staff attempted to fix it in room 905.

The lobby looked nice room had eletretic sparks coming out of a light every hour throughout the night and despite notifing staff this was not fixed, extremely dangerous. There was a bettle underneath my bed. There was mould in the shower.

Halal breakfast was very convenient with many items to choose from. Dining area was over it’s capacity probably due to SEA Games athletes. There seems to be a disconnect between Al Meroz and Booking.com. I had specifically reserved one room with double beds through booking.com. This was around Dec 13-15. Room was for Father and his son for 2 nights. Al Meroz staff only offered 1 King bed, and demanded I show proof from booking.com that I had reserved a room with double beds. I did not have enough information in my booking confirmation email so I was refused two beds. It came to a point that I became very upset and demanded to see the Supervisor. After an hour, the staff did provide me with a room with twin beds. I am not really sure who dropped the ball here. Was booking.com at fault here for not providing specific booking reservations to Al Meroz? Does Al Meroz reservation system needs to looked at for booking /reservations from other outlets? I don’t know. I am still trying to find out. This should not happen. I booked again with Al Meroz for 2 nights, 2 rooms around Dec 19-21 time frame. This time Al Meroz mentioned I did not have breakfast included reservations. I had specifically booked for breakfast included room rates through booking.com. Again there was a disconnect, but a minor one. I think this has to be straightened out for future customers who use different outlets to book rooms.
