Campus Hotel

For 1 day, just to have somewhere to sleep and shower it was enough. - The room was very spacious with big balcony overlooking a nice garden. - The bathroom had a large window and even a separate balcony. - there are tiles on the floor and the room was really cool even though it was hot outside - the reception staff was really nice - it was possible to pay on arrival and the check-in was very smooth. Keep in mind that cash is preferred. Many things are very worn-out. The window didn’t close, the shower was falling apart and was a bit moldy. There was an issue with an elevator which was not reliable and one time we had to use the stairs. The room was a bit ascetic in terms of facilities - no fridge, no water, no glasses, no kettle.

The balcony has a great view, the room was comfortable and spacious. The bathroom wasn’t very clean, there was mild.

Difficult to locate.

The staff from reception to management demonstrated exceptional consistency — they were equally unhelpful all the time. After staying in 150+ hotels just on Booking.com, I can responsibly say: If you're looking for the worst hotel where incompetence is elevated to an art form, Campus Hotel Bari is the undisputed champion. Arrived at 6 AM after a train strike, only to be left exhausted for 1 hour standing outside the gate. The receptionist, who barely speaks English, repeating over phone the hotel is full, although I had payed for previous night, and I had informed upfront I will be late around 6AM due to train strike. They don’t accept cards, only cash. (+ “welcome tax” because they don't have return). What followed after my checkout was a masterclass in their pure incompetency, my ID Card stayed at reception: They refused to return it by post They were physically and mentally unable to print and stick a simple UPS label They let the UPS courier paid by me leave empty-handed twice. Complete radio silence — no replies to emails, Booking chat, or phone calls, even ignoring Booking.com CS. They are impressively incompetent, uncooperative, and apparently unable to perform the most basic reception tasks. Overall Rating: 1/10 (The one point is purely for the comedy value. Avoid at all costs.) If your country doesn’t have an excellent consul in Bari, don’t even dare to stay nearby to them.

To sum up my experience , i would need to give abit of backstory. The reservation happened in a spur with not many options available as it was on the 15th of August. We had travelled via boat from Greece to Brindisi and trying to make our way up to Germany. No reception during the boat trip so no communication was available. I opened my data at some point where i receive a flood of texts and missed calls on WhatsApp from an number I didn't know (leaving the fact aside that the profile pic was of a minor) . I turned out to be the hotel trying to confirm the reservation, I confirmed and informed them the estimation arrival time , (close to 10pm) they acknowledged and no further communication was needed. Finally arriving at the hotel, we are informed that the room has no hot water since the the heater is broken (the owner did provide an option of giving us a key of a room that would have checked out in the morning to take a shower, although which room and at what time it was unknown. Upon closer inspection of the room, there was no toilet seat. So even it was after an exhausting day and late at night we decided to leave and find a better equip establishment.

The staff was incredible, extremely helpful. We arrived late and they help us to find dinner. Always friendly and understanding. I was glad to choose this hotel. The room was big enough, the bed was nice. The toilet seat was broken.

It’s very old, used to be students dorm or something like that. Some rooms have mold on the ceiling from flooding. Go there only if you need a special experience and don’t have Time Machine at hand :)

The bathroom was disgusting, there was corrosion everywhere. The toilet flusher didn't work and the shower faucet was broken. There was a balcony door attached which was uncovered and half the blinds missing. You could see everything inside the bathroom from the outside. The bedsheets appeared clean but the bed itself was unstable and squeaky every time you'd make the slightest move. The mattress was uncomfortable and seemed aged. Overall it was a bad experience.

The facilities should be renovated

I will always remember this accomodation as my worst in my life so i will describe it in friend meetings as a bad joke. I informed them about my arrival but there was no answer. I checked in 00:10 and after 20 minutes the owner cancelled my booking through booking.com and said i never came to the hotel. Once i saw it , i went to the reception and he told me that there is no problem and i shouldn't worry and it was a normal procesure. Of course i asked for a receipt to be sure which he gave me . The room and the whole hotel is a dump. Dirty, no amenities , poor lighting, bad smell.Totally dangerous. I am sad that i give 1/10 , it's my first time that i give this grade but i wish i could give 0/10 because 1/10 it's too much for this nightmare.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Location quite near the central station. Old furniture, old bathroom equipment, leaking toilet. Very thin walls so I heard TV sounds till 3am from the neighbouring room on one side and someone horribly snoring all night long from the neighbouring room on the other side.
