Village Barra Hotel

Location is great. Bed is old and not comfortable, sheets and towels are extremely cheap. You can hear everything inside of room, no privacy at all. Breakfast is disgusting.

The address published on the hotel's own website, on Google, and everywhere else is wrong, and has been for a long time, according to staff (it's not Rua Sen. Arnon de Mello, 65 - Praia do Niquin, Barra de São Miguel). This makes getting to the hotel almost IMPOSSIBLE. Just imagine if you published your business "address" incorrectly...

Price, beachfront view, polite staff, a couple of vegetarian options on the menu. There's a small grocery shop nearby that sold at good price things that may be too expensive at hotel. Beware hotel has strict policy on not consuming any food brought outside (inside room is fine) 1 hour away from airport, no airport transfer offered, at check-in they require a staff member to enter room with you to check the minibar and to sign a paper confirming what was available (trust issues from previous doubtful guests), room with seaside view are older, just 2 outlets near bed very high in height, our room didn't have a proper queen sized bed as they just put two single mattress together and the wedge in the middle was very uncomfortable. After notifying reception they didn't offer a room change but a note to the maid to make the 2 mattresses level (didn't work), and some rooms had smart tvs and some hadn't, like ours. Bed sheets and pillow had some stains and laundry marks, and bathroom was ok, outdated, but no ventilation. To get in and out of room there was no easy way to control all lights as the key holder at the door didn't work, but other rooms did normally, so they booked us a room with various issues for no reason since hotel was mostly empty. The restaurant menu is the same everyday, so you're stuck with the same options unless you go outside the hotel to the small restaurants nearby to eat there.

Location is fantastic, particularly for families with young kids Hotel facilities are in need of renovation - shower handles are loose, keycard won’t fit properly in power plug, AC does regulate well…etc etc. clearly they live off their privileged location and minimal competition. For the price paid one would expect better services.

Wonderful location, exceptionally friendly staff and the breakfast buffet is great, too. We only stayed two nights (fourth floor with balcony and beautiful sea view – would 100% recommend) but really liked our time in the hotel. You’ll receive fresh towels for the pool and beach, there’s plenty seating options you have a direct access to the beach. The location is also close to some nice stores (bit expensive) with bikinis etc. The bathroom could be modernized but wasn’t too bad!

Great location and common areas. Staff was very gentle. Front sea room was simple for the price and hotel standards but very spacious. Beach in front of hotel is amazing. Breakfast was very basic and running out of some items. For a front sea room, and considering its price, it should be more comfortable and with more amenities.
