Iconic Marjorie Hotel, Penang, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel

The swimming pool has very few people, allowing my family enjoy it very much. I had a disappointing experience with the front desk. The receptionist repeatedly told me that the Ramadan buffet was fully booked, which was quite upsetting. However, when I called the restaurant directly, they said they could reserve a table for me. When I arrived that evening, the hall was only about 70% full, so I don’t understand why I was told there was no availability. I also booked three rooms, and in one of them we suspected the mattress had bed bugs because we felt itchy while sleeping. This was very uncomfortable and concerning. Overall, this experience did not meet expectations, and I hope the hotel improves communication and room quality.

I like the everything from the momwnt I stepped in..I smell the amber fragrance of air freshner, professional staff who arranged my check in, early check in request was mafe available, beautiful unterior from the lobby up to the room. I like the touch screen lift, the unique kettle and ice basket plus a handheld steamer instead of conventional steam iron. The room ID and the toilet ID are well and carefully designed with detailings..plus the carpet, towel, robe are customade complete with the Peranakan motifs. Amazing! The waiting area at the lobby is pretty small wt limited seats.

Friendly staff & room has additional choice of selecting pillow base on their Pillow Menu. From main road turning into Hotel Entrance has to be more alert of the motorists come out from very near junction. Carpark exist coming down the pathway a little narrow for a long vehicle to turn has to be careful.

Clean and very comfortable bed The staff is not focused on what we requested, which we told them to register points for Marriot Bonvoy and provided them the details, yet they didn't register. Quite disappointed

The room is very clean and the aircond is cold. Nice foods being served for both the seafood buffet and breakfast but however I hope there is more food variety in the future for both. The staff are friendly such as Ikmal at the reception counter, Firdaus (during seafood buffet) and also all the Indonesia staff (during breakfast). We really enjoyed our stay. The pool towel is very dusty and reluctantly we have to use it after the swim. During the seafood buffet dinner, at the beginning my wife requested for 1 coconut drink which was given to her but after some time she requested for another one but the staff (chinese lady, short hair, plump size) told her that it was already finished. However around 20 minutes, the table next to us was served with two (thinking they were a platinum membership in the hotel that is why they got their needs taken care of and highly prioritized) but we just continued eating as if we didn't see anything.
