The Exchange Beaconsfield - Offering Heritage Accommodation

Gavin and Donna have beautifully renovated the gorgeous old building using materials from around the site. The majestic Huon Pine staircase leads up to the bedrooms and breakfast room. Breakfast is a vast selection of cereals, breads, yogurts, teas, fruit and herbal teas, instant and fresh coffee. Parking is on site too. Our bedroom was compact, quiet and super comfortable. You really don’t need anything other than a bed, a chair and a luggage table. Netflix is available too. The private bathroom is located just down the hall with quality shampoo, conditioner, handwash and bodywash and the MOST LUXURIOUS TOWELS ever. There are ensuite rooms available too and they are huge and not much more expensive. The bar, open certain evening, serving a great selection of Tassie beers and Tassie boutique gins (I had a fabulous tasting time ?). Soo much old-world charm. Only 40 min drive to Launceston and 1 hour to Devonport makes The Exchange the perfect place for a stopover. Whilst you’re there visit Seahorse World, Platypus World and Beaconsfield Mine. Tasty Bite Indian across the road is great for tea and Jubilee Bakery for breakfast. Nothing. It was a superb stay.

Beautiful rooms with very comfortable bed and the plushest of towels. Gavin was very friendly and accommodating to our late arrival. Location was easy to access from our evening penguin tour at Low Head and en route on our next days journey.

The heritage and careful restoration to create a yesteryear feel with modern amenities made this a very special place to stay. The owner was so very friendly and helpful, the decor was so in keeping of the theme and the wine bar served excellent wine! I particularly loved the four poster bed and the little extras in the room that made it feel so homely. The breakfast was a continental breakfast and it included fresh fruit, yoghurt, different cereals, different breads, an array of different teas and a coffee machine. Plenty to start a day of sightseeing. A wonderful place to stay! Beaconsfield is a working town with not a lot for tourists to see, however it is so very near Beauty Point that it makes a great alternative to staying at Beauty.

This accomodation was a surprising diamond! The room, linen, bathroom, all very high end. The host was amazing, knowledgeable and wonderful to chat to. The most beautiful historical renovation I have seen. We have travelled the globe, this is one I will count in my top 5. This is a heritage building, and on first glance I was worried it would be run down. Couldn't be further from the truth.

Accommodation is very old world charm with super comfortable bed, pillows and fluffy towels. Everything was clean and host very friendly and helpful.

Convenient location. Lay out like a bed sitter. High quality Manchester. Plenty food in fridge. Next to Beaconsfield museum. Lovely village atmosphere. Fresh products from local IGA. Couldn't ask for more.

Gavin was the most delightful and friendly host who provided comfortable and pristine accommodation. The bathroom absolutely sparkled and we have never had better towels anywhere we have stayed. We can highly recommend The Exchange Hotel. Gavin and his sister are to be congratulated for their superb restoration of the hotel and making it a feature of the town.

Loved the four poster bed, which was very comfortable. Bedroom was tastefully decorated in heritage pictures, curtains, tassles, colours, etc. Great variety of items available for the self-serve breakfast. Smart TV in our room and breakfast room had Netflix, free to air TV, YouTube, etc. Sheridan linen and a variety of pillows to choose from. Towels were thick and soft. Ensuite was kept in period too with clawfoot bath, wooden seat and lid on toilet. A totally delightful place to stay! More than happy with everything.

exceptional all round experience. all staff were great and went out of their way to make my stay warm and inviting. the cleanliness of the property was excellent, could not fault. the property was open and inviting, so you could see the heritage of the place throughout, which i thought was so good by the owners. cannot fault my experience and this is someone that has travelled extensively throughout most of the eastern coast of australia & stayed in 100's + of motels, hotels, airbnb's etc. well done Moss, Donna & Gavin! n/a
