The main thing of the hotel and the whole Normandy is the manager Kiki? Everything was great - check-in, big comfortable for family room, dinner, breakfast, she even found a barber shop for our son! Wonderful wine list! oysters, lobsters, tartare! Kiki listened to all our wishes and immediately fulfilled them! Kiki is so friendly that we decided to stay one day longer)) This is more than just good service! We felt like at home, even better) We will be happy to come back! thank you very much for the amazing time! Дякую! Merci beaucoup!

Very attentive service Heating system was a little tricky

The hotel itself is lovely. The rooms are huge and the bed is unbelievably comfortable. The air conditioning didn’t work though so the room was very hot. This meant we had to have the windows open which brought noise in from the road outside. It’s personal preference as I like a very cold room, no matter what time of year it is so I always book hotels with air conditioning. The concierge is fantastic and very knowledgeable and couldn’t do enough to make sure that we were ok. He really is an asset to the hotel. I think there is opportunity for improvement with the restaurant. We had dinner here. On researching the restaurant we saw that there are seasonal menus of 3,4 or 5 courses. However on arrival for dinner, we were told only the 3 course menu was available which was a disappointment. We were really looking for some nice lamb or seafood which we had seen across many photos and reviews of the restaurant. We did ask if the lamb was available and the chef came back and said yes for a €20 euro supplement which we found high but agreed it was worth the try. The starters consisted of either tomatoes or mushrooms. The tomato was a slice of tomato in a consommé and the mushroom was half a mushroom! It was more like a tasting plate than a starter. We then had the lamb for main. Tiny again. No carbohydrates in the meal and the vegetables consisted of one tiny turnip and one little leek? The chocolate dessert was fantastic. The best part of the meal and of normal size for a 3 course menu. We did of course have amuse bouche which were ok and a constant refill of sourdough bread which was quite hard so not overly appetising but we needed it to fill ourselves up. I would have no problem with the sizes of these dishes is they were part of a tasting menu which the hotel does advertise on its website. Three courses is not a tasting menu and so the portion sizes were far too small and we left the meal feeling hungry and disappointed. We were with a couple celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary so we wanted to keep the jovial feeling high to not dampen the feeling from the meal. So we didn’t complain too much on the night. We did think it was a great touch that the hotel brought out a great big sparkler with the desert and made a great fuss of the occasion so thank you for that. But for the €75 menu of 3 courses (includes the supplement for lamb) we were left dissatisfied. Each course tasted fine, but the portion size was not satisfactory for only providing 3 courses.

Beautiful property in a good location to Mt St. Michel. There are closer properties but the quality of Ermitage was worth the further distance.

Excellent staff and excellent food. The hotel is on a busy road but the bedrooms are very quiet.

Exceptional

Ermitage is a lovely hotel. The staff are warm and welcoming. The location is perfect and very close to Mont Saint Michel. The rooms are very large and the bathroom is very large and nice. The bed was perfect and I slept like I was at home. The dinner was incredible. The food was delicious and the attention to detail was unmatched. The breakfast was also perfect with amazing pastries, eggs, bread, fruit, charcuterie, cheese and yogurt. I am so impressed with the team and the hotel and can't wait ti return!
