The location of this hotel is great - right next to Qianmen Street and DaShiLan Street. It's between the Forbidden City/ Tiananmen Square and Temple of Heaven. There are many great restaurants within a 2-5 minute walk. There is a metro stop about 10 minute walk from the hotel. The beds were clean and comfortable, the room was spacious, towels and bedding were clean. The decoration of the hotel is cute, traditional Beijing hutong style. The check-in process was terrible. While I speak Chinese, the staff insisted on using a translator that wasn't translating correctly - Do not expect staff to speak English. The staff at check-in was rather apathetic and at times rude. They will make you open your luggage in the lobby to check it/scan it for prohibited items. This is not usual in China and/or Beijing and is a hotel policy that felt invasive. As a traveler, I don't like staff looking through my bags and seeing underwear or where valuables may be. Additionally, we were a party of three in a triple room, but they refused to give us additional room cards- which was inconvenient as our group split at times and then had to coordinate or ask the staff to open doors. Desk staff was defensive when asked about these unusual policies and gave rude responses. While the stay overall was good, the check-in and unusual policies were off-putting.

There are free water every day, it is so close to the station, and there were shampoo, conditioner, and a body soap. The wifi connection was not good

Location was good, near tiananmen square and some other areas of interest. we had fresh towels, water and toilet paper everyday. bed was comfy, which i wasn't expecting due to some of the other reviews. for the price is was very good. staff carried our big suitcase to the top floor. strange baggage scanning where we had to open up our suitcases in the lobby. i wouldn't stay here again, just because i think the area was a bit too touristy, though its quiet and off the main road. I just think there are more interesting areas to choose from in BJ. but if you're looking at this area, this is great value.

Very well located with two close metro stations and very responsive staff Maybe it’s cultural but they didn’t make our bed everyday. However, we had our bottles of water, clean towels and toilet paper daily.

The location was perfect. Walking distance to many places of interest but in a quiet area. The room was clean and had everything you need for a few days.

The hotel is cozy, in a perfect location and clean. I had a great sleeping time there. They provided baggage storage service. It is a bit too basic. The room was so small that it was impossible to open the bag. Also the toilet is minimal.

Wasn't a big dea reallyl, but note there isn't an elevator, so just something to consider if traveling with heavy luggage. It didn't affect our stay.
