Good ambience Good and calm

The room was spacious with very comfortable beds and showers with good water pressure. The breakfast options were limited to Chinese cuisine and no labels were provided next to the foods to indicate what you are eating. This could be a serious issue if one has allergies or dietary restrictions. Also, the coffee machine did not work properly. Another issue was that only one iron was provided for the whole building.

Hilton Hotel was generally good including the services offered. Only language barrier can be improved but the staff tried using the language interpreter and it halped them. Only langauge barrier but not that bad. I intend to come back to Beijing and enjoy myself more I had little time to move around to explore the city.

The staff were fairly friendly. The hotel was not too far from the city centre by taxi, but it wasn't close enough to metro stations. The indoor decoration style was good enough. The room didn't smell like smoke. There was NO AC as they advertised, and they sent a fan on the last two days as replacement, which was totally not what we paid for (other reviews also pointed this out). Ventilation was poor and the window could only be opened a little bit, not enough to cool the room down. The noise isolation was basically non-existing and we constantly heard talking and door-slamming from the corridor and the neighbouring rooms both early in the morning and late at night. We went to this hotel for a birthday vacation for my wife, but we didn't get a single night's good sleep for the entire 2 weeks stay. In particular, on the night before my wife's birthday, one of the neighbours was watching TV loudly (who kindly turned it down after we confirmed it in person), and the other one was talking loudly, and we could hear someone's phone/laptop notification sound constantly but couldn't locate it. All the hotel rooms also came entrance door, shower room door and toilet door that all slam themselves unless one closes them very carefully, so that was also part of the late-night choir. The noise continued till at least 1 am. Then, before 5am, we were woken up by the heat and lied in bed for more than 2 hours trying to sleep again. Before we succeeded, at about 6 or 7am, the noise of talking and notification and door-slamming resumed again. We had slept for less than 4 hours on that day, which made it the worst birthday my wife had ever had, and that was particularly disappointing for we had high hopes for this hotel and booked a total 2 weeks! We really really looked forward to this long trip to China and this hotel really managed to ruin the entire experience. We also complained to Booking, who didn't think we are eligible for compensation but encouraged us to write a review. Well, I guess falsely advertising AC and sound-proof here does have consequences.

Everything except the location. But that’s not the fault of the hotel, Booking.com, as usual, located the property about a mile closer to the railway station then where the property actually was located. Other than that, everything was perfect.

The chicken we got in the restaurant was terrible. Chopped into bite size pieces without removing bones. Small bits of bone in most pieces. The young woman who took our order was quite friendly and helpful, but the scan menu didn't work.
