This is an amazing property that works very hard to please their guests (as most Shangri La hotels do). I was here recently and Zoe from the hospitality staff was amazing. She learned it was my birthday and arranged a complimentary cake, inviting the friends I was traveling with, altogether a pleasant surprise Nothing

Breakfast or meal in restaurant is OK, but it would even better if there is more option for halal food. The staff is incredibly friendly attentive and care. English speaking staff is very helpful for us who didn't speak Chinese. Minim facility for kids. Less option for late night room service dining.

Variety of breakfast items to choose. Quiet and spacious room. Button floor numbers in the elevator are barely visible. Some staffers do not speak English.

The property is easily accessible by Beijing Metro subway line. Close to food shops. Unfortunately, our experience at Shangri-La Beijing did not meet expectations. While the hotel has a good reputation, several issues made our stay frustrating. The biggest problem was the air conditioning in the room. It was fixed at 24°C, making the room uncomfortably warm, and there was no way to adjust it, despite two visits from their engineers to 'fix' the problem. We requested a room change, but the new room had the same issue, which made it difficult to sleep comfortably. Service was another major letdown. While some staff were initially polite, we noticed a clear change in attitude when we spoke English—they became less interested and less willing to assist. It felt as though English-speaking guests were not given the same level of service, which was disappointing. Check-in was slow, and communication was difficult. The dining experience was also disappointing. We had booked the seafood and lobster dinner, but when I requested a salmon sashimi at the sushi station, the chef made an annoyed face, which was unprofessional and uncomfortable. For a high-end hotel, we expected better service and a more welcoming attitude from the dining staff. The room, although spacious, felt outdated, and cleanliness was not up to the standard expected from a Shangri-La hotel. There are no tea and coffee in the room. Housekeeping was inconsistent, with amenities not always replenished. Additionally, despite the hotel's luxurious branding, certain areas felt in need of renovation. Overall, for the price and prestige of Shangri-La, we expected much better service, comfort, and hospitality. Sadly, we would not choose to stay here again.

It’s old and requires maintenance My initial room #1717 had a problem in the security box, also toilet was dripping water overnight and that kept me from falling in sleep.

I think Chris Lam at concierge was a wonderful help. He was responsible, diligent, efficient and effective. I want to commend him for the help he extended to me in getting a taxi on 2 mornings. I appreciated it deeply. Nothing. i wish i had a bit more time to properly enjoy the hotel's facilities.

Everything is beautiful. Location is a bid far from everything.

Seemed really friendly, fantastic staff. They made us feel welcome and were patient with our lack of language skills. We felt very welcome and made us enjoy our time in beijing. The service received was outstanding along with all amenities provided for. Only thing is we came back to late for the good room service menu. Would have loved to see Chinese food on the late night menu. However the food we had was very enjoyable.

I found a laundry room in a hotel nearby which is very helpful for me. I went there to wash and dry my clothes several times. It is more guest friendly.

Stuff very helpfull. Wecstayed with a kid and in the room there were a little robe, slippers, tooth brush etc and even a step stool for the little one. Very thoughtful!

This is an exceptional hotel that is perfect for business visitors to Beijing. It has high standards of accommodation and offers many options for food and restuarants. It is a 5 star service. The lobby bar is a non-event, you can sit there forever and never be served - if you actively chase service you may get yourself a drink but no one will follow that up. It's best to find somewhere else to meet people.
