I loved the location, room, and staff. The hotel is a short taxi ride from the Palace Museum and within walking distance through historic hutongs and a commercial area to the Drum and Bell towers. The room was clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated in a Chinese style. The hotel manager and the young man at reception speak fluent English and are very helpful. Although the female receptionists don’t speak English, they are still very supportive, using a translator when needed, and always assisted me with booking taxis when my app wasn’t working. The internet was also reliable throughout my stay. The hotel is quiet and peaceful, offering a relaxing atmosphere after a day of exploring. I would definitely stay here again if I ever return to wonderful Beijing. I wish there had been a breakfast option at the hotel, although there was a kettle, tea, and bottled water provided daily. Fortunately, I was able to have breakfast at one of the many nearby eateries that open early in the morning.

I did not book breakfast, but in the vicinity are beautiful places for Beijing breakfast. I would have very much enjoyed a window with sunlight. But since I was there only in the evening, it did not matter too much.

No Eng spoken incl. Mgr. Poor room with stains. Terrible bed. Leaking toilet and shower. Thin walls, shouting heard during the night. Poor attitude amongst staff.

It's a health hazard. The toilet said sterilized but has pee stain on the seat, the whole hotel had a rancid stench of cigarettes and mold that were setting off my allergies. I had to look for another hotel in the middle of the night in a foreign country.

there was no hot water (and they turned off the water for several hours because of some problems with pipes). they required 200 yuan as deposit and only in cash; it took a while to get it back upon check out.
