Negatives: This sounds like it was outdated for decades and then instead of renovating, someone bought it in a cheap price and tried to use it as it is. The AC was extremely noisy. The toilet fixtures have rusty, the coffee maker was very dirty and not usable, the fitness center AC was off and locked, from 4 tools in fitness center, 3 of them were broken and one worked partially. The breakfast room was humid without a window. The receptionist did not explain the breakfast time. They expected the guest should read the information from a board that was on left side of the reception desk. Positive: the pool view was nice. The mattress, towels were clean.

The employees were awful towards the customers

Carpet in hallways was nasty and very noticeable. Rooms had odor, bedding was dingy, discolored and thin. The whole place needs upgrading. Ice machine around the back full of smelly dirty water. Nothing in vending machine. The best part of the stay is next to the airport.

This hotel is pretty run down. The air conditioner only worked on the highest coolest setting which made it uncomfortable for just sitting and relaxing. We could see the pool from our room and had a few hours to kill, so we were going to go lay by the pool…this was the ONLY good feature of the hotel. The pool was clear blue, the deck and chairs seemed to be super clean; UNFORTUNATELY when we got down there the gates to the pool had padlocks on them and we couldn’t get it. Our visit to Birmingham was in mid June, so the pool would have been the only redeemable thing about this very sub par hotel and it wasn’t open in the middle of a very hot afternoon. The bed in our room squeaked every time anyone moved even a fraction and the mattress was so sunken in that it felt like our feet were higher than our heads. This hotel needs a major renovation and lots of upgrades. I would NOT recommend!

Staff was nice. Room was clean.

The room had a musky smell, there was a thin layer of mold on the wood, the sheets were stained, the tub and toilet were stained with age. I did not look at the customer reviews before confirming the reservation. There are plenty of positive reviews, but I think that they are fake because they do not reflect my experience.

We checked in around 10 pm and the receptionist was on her cell phone the entire time she checked us in. She gave us the room cards and pointed to the elevator. We were clearly an Inconvenience to her The only saving grace was the kind lady who was on Duty when we checked out. There was an old musty smell in the lobby. The toilet was slow to flush and fill. It was convenient to the airport but sometimes convenience does not equal quality

There were big roaches in the breakfast area
-
The hotel was clean and nice, but the pool was closed. I would stay here again.

Food at restaurant was good and room was nice and cleaned.
-
This place was quiet and good for me to relax and work. My kid loved swim at pool
-
Called before booking and they said the pool was operating but when I got there they claimed it was under maintenance
-
Worst hotel I have ever been in.
-
And the elevator inspection certificate was passed due by eight months in both elevators.

The staff was nice and helpful. Room was clean and ok with me. Breakfast was not like my expectation but quite basic. I think it is ok with this price

Do not stay here! This place needs some serious work done…. The vending machines did not work, stains on sheet, mold on bathroom ceiling and toilet was clogged in my first room so they moved me… ac frozen in new room, brought keys to move me next door to original room but someone had just checked in (which confused the hell out of the front desk guy), moved again, chair broken but ac worked… at this point the other half of my party arrived and we all opted to leave… the front desk guy did his best to make things right but this place is a dump :/

Location and staff Sink had hair shavings from Previous occupancy. No shower curtain. Run down and dirty, needs significant updating and regentrification.
-
The shower appeared to work. Didn't stay long enough to need it. The main lobby and rooms were dirty and in very poor condition. Trash left in the hallways. Drug addicts and pan handlers all over the premises. The walls in the rooms were cracked and had mildew on all the fixtures. We were never able to access one of the three rooms we booked as they couldn't make a key that would work. We cancelled our rooms and went to another hotel.

Showed up and tried checking in. Computer system was down. Took a while to come back up. The bed sucked. It was very worn out. Mattress too soft. Stream in shower consisted of 2 jets. Couldn’t get shampoo out of my hair. Wouldn’t ever stay there again!

Beyond being unsightly, these conditions raise legitimate concerns about air quality, health risks, and overall building maintenance. No guest should be expected to stay in a room with visible water damage and potential mold contamination overhead. The room should have been removed from inventory and repaired before being assigned to any guest. This reflects a serious lack of quality control and concern for customer safety. After a long day of traveling I expected to walk into a clean, safe, and habitable room, and this room failed to meet even basic standards. I would strongly encourage management to ensure rooms are thoroughly inspected before being rented to guests. Yesh your service was great but that hotel is a no-go!!!!
