Excellent accommodations… we always stay here; lake view room was gorgeous

We visited the spa during our trip, my husbands 80 min massage was superb. I booked the Emerald Forest Body Ritual for myself and it was very misleading. It was not a full body treatment as described instead it was arms, legs and back. I discourage anyone from booking this for the cost of $230 as you can give yourself a better treatment at home.

Clean room and great views!

The lake scenery Room 216 had mold at the ceiling in the bathroom. The lamp shade had mold on it. The restaurant was pitiful. Not really enough staff. The pool was cloudy. I paid over $1400 total and this was not worth it. The carpet in the hallway is stained. I wouldn’t be so hard but they are advertising a resort. I expected more.

The rooms are large and comfy. The grounds were well manicured.

I have been coming to this area to visit relatives for over 50 years and have always wanted to stay here, especially because of the Bob Timberlake "ambience". So, for our 50th wedding anniversary, we booked a room at the lodge for 2 nights. It is hard to describe what a horrible, disappointing experience this was. Trying to find the lobby to check in was difficult. When we finally figured out where it "might" be, we were greeted with many uphill steps which is not a comfortable option for us. We drove around to the back where there was an entrance to get to the lobby via an elevator to the ground level. After checking in, we found our 2nd floor room, which had absolutely NO characteristics of anything relating to Bob Timberlake. It only got worse after that. The room was dark (in the middle of the afternoon) even with all the lights on. The 2nd floor ice machine was out of order, nothing on the 3rd floor, had to go back to the lobby and was directed to a small ice maker in a small conference room. We discovered the next morning the refrigerator was leaking all over the floor. We weren't able to stream shows on the television for whatever reason and believe me, we are very familiar with that procedure. No desk in the room, just a small table and a couple of chairs. After being there 24 hours, we decided to check out a day early and go home. The check-out person said it would be up to Expedia if or when there would be any kind of refund. Good luck with that!!

We were also disappointed by the limited days/hours for the restaurant and bar.

The room did not have central air working , They put a portable a/c unit in the room and it was loud. Wish they had told us and offered another room

Only stayed one night so didn't get to explore much. The accommodations were suitable for a quick stop. Not sure I would've stayed much longer.

The spa was fantastic. The front desk staff were very helpful when they were there but several times no one was present. Also, the restaurant was never open while we were there. Even tried to go for cocktail hour and other people had drinks but the bar was completely unmanned while we were there. We waited about 10 minutes and then left. There was also patio construction going on outside our room. Overall the location and grounds were beautiful and would definitely go back

Liked the location and grounds. We chose a lakeview room at extra cost and it was well worth it. Very restful. No noise. I highly recommend it.

Way over priced for the quality of property and amenities

The rooms need more lighting You cannot have no food available on property other than 3 sandwiches in the pub. You should be truthful about when the restaurant will reopen and should let people know when they book. Rooms were cleaned extremely well daily by the maids Mens bathroom at the pool was a complete mess with towels everywhere and uncollected garbage overflowing the can.

Good location for surrounding activities. Helpful staff. Pool was nice. Room lacked some amenities like hair dryer, window was fogged out due to thermal glass seal being broken, and mini fridge freezer needed defrosting really bad. Hot tub jets were pitiful.

The location is great for Blowing Rock, the property (land, vegetation, lake etc) is very nice, but the hotel facilities are dated, no noise insulation. We paid for a lake view and specified not on the 1st floor and you see the lake but with a pretty large view of the parking lot, 2nd and 3rd floor might be slightly better, but 2nd floor rooms have not been updated. I was offered the 2nd floor for the next day but had already settled in. We did see deer in the property and the kids really enjoyed that, but that's not exclusive to the resort. Hotel is dated, room lights are white not helping the cozy ambiance you would expect, no noise insulation, lake view I paid for is ruined by the parking lot.

The only problems we had was that our room phone was not plugged in, the alarm clock was preset to a very early alarm and the TV was not easy to figure out. Thankfully Reed at the front desk in the evenings was extremely kind and helpful with the TV. The restaurant was closed which would have been helpful the night it stormed as we couldn't go to a restaurant with our dog. Other than that, the resort was beautiful and I highly recommend staying there !

Been going here 30+ years and our first really bad experience. Our room was musty and the AC didn’t work and neither did the phone. We asked for a different room and were told they were booked solid but rooms were showing available online. Our room was not serviced even once in 3 days. When we asked the cleaning staff to clean our room she didn’t speak English. After 24 hours, someone finally came and brought us a box fan to help with air flow. We left detailed messages with staff with our issues and we were told multiple times a manager wasn’t there but they would relay the issues and no one ever reached out to us. We even told the staff at checkout we likely won’t be staying here when we come back this winter which really makes us sad but even that didn’t prompt a call or email to see how it could be made right. We tried to call again after arriving home and still have yet to get to speak to a manager. The breakfast and bar staff at Timberlakes were phenomenal but dinner staff couldn’t get our order correct and offered bread and sparkling water without clarifying it was not complimentary due to the inconvenience so we weren’t expecting the $21 up charge on our bill. Morning staff was clear to say if we add a drink there is an up charge and gave us the option. Perhaps listing those items on the menu or training staff to inform customers of the charges would eliminate that issue going forward. This was a birthday trip too. Very disappointed.
