It wasn’t a smoking room, but there was a strong, unpleasant smell of cigarette smoke. Even the sheets reeked of it. No effort was made to resolve the problem

The staff were super kinda and worked very hard to help with the internet, which was not working well enough for my needs (video calls) when I arrived. The family room I booked was large and the AC was very effective. Throughout my stay the staff were super kind, supportive and welcoming. Despite ratings on Booking.com, I found the wifi to work barely at all from my room. I worked from the very small (and sometimes loud) lobby until the very gracious staff team figured out a better solution. The bed was firm like a plank of wood and the AC was loud.

Clean, comfortable hotel in the centre of town, near the bus station, marina and castle. The owner was very friendly and helpful.

Small room but with all the needed essentials. Everything was working well. The location is very convinient. Overall good value for money. A bit noisy from the street at night (scooters make a lot of noise). Also the linen and towels would definitely benefit from refreshment.

I'm a budget traveller these days, who likes to get under the skin of a place. Accommodation where the basics just work is important. Melis Pensyon ticked all my boxes; clean, good shower, strong wifi, friendly staff, near the hustle and bustle, air con. I was very pleased with my choice for a great price. Really hard to think of any negatives, tbh. It's just a great budget hotel, in a great town where you could easily pay much more for a few frills.

Although their English was minimal, the staff were very friendly eager to please. And despite the language barrier, they were very helpful when we needed advice about how to get around! While the hotel's central location was convenient, the only downside to that was the noise from the street below our window (mostly the drone of mopeds flying around at all hours.)
