Samui Mermaid Resort

The main property is quite beautiful and is on the beachfront. The restaurant is quaint and the staff was nice. The rooms a big with sea views . What you need to know is that the properties divided into two sections if not three but with the main road being between the beach and the second section so you end up staying across the street from the beach the huts are like a small community.. and I wouldn’t call them huts per se. I’d say little boxes. So it’s a bit misguided, even though when you go back and reread the description, it’s obvious I do believe they call a garden view, but not really.

Its next to Bangrak pier . So very comfortable to catch the next day's ferry for Koh Phangan. I booked a room with a double bed There were options with twins but i chose a double bed. Got approved and confirmed . When i arrived i handed my passport and they informed me about check in and check out time and about the beach and the pool and while was ready to start filling some documents the reception guy told me "ah we got you a twin room" . I politely said that i didnt pay for a twin room. His tone was that he doesnt care what i booked.He has a twin room and thats what i will take. I told him i will not and ask him to cancel my booking. He replied "you havent paid yet just cancel it yourself . I clearly asked him if i will pay any fee and he said "No. You havent paid anything .Cannot keep you money". So i got out and tried to cancel and of course i had to pay the full amount. I went back and his reply was "I dont know about cancelation fees" So another 5 minutes playing the game i paid for the double bed and he kept telling me to take the twin or get out.I asked for supervisor he said there was none around.And thankfully i cleaner lady appeared and informed him that there was a double bed room available. So i tipped the lady for saving my night and went to my room. Next day again looking for the supervisor.And it was a younger guy looking like him around having eyes and ears on me and of course no supervisor. I went around 7 in the evening and left at 12.00.at noon and no supervisor. Seems the supervisor comes 1-2 hours per day.. I am still wondering why they dont hire the cleaner lady as desk reception .She knew everything . She was polite with big smile and she. really tried to stay under the radar. And it wasn't my first time in this hotel.

When i first arrived, i booked a fan only room in the second half of the hotel. There’s lots of road works between and it’s v removed from reception or support and my lock/key didn’t really work. I felt unsafe here and there was no pre-warning to explain. I asked to be moved asap.

Good location in front of the beach,  with restaurants and shops around. Nice facilities and very nice seaside. Nice staff Expensive for what is included. Kettle is not available in the standard room option, what is basic to grab a tea/coffee when getting up. Cash payment as deposit for the room key is not reasonable . Bathroom very small and shower over the WC. Not possible check in before 2pm, regardless the availability

I begged them to give it to me as it was my grandfather’s shirt who has passed away years ago:(( I litterally begged them but they did not give my shirt. *Thief Alert* I begged them to give my shirt but they lied to me and stole the shirt :((

Booking.com said the price for booking could be paid at the hotel reception while checking in. The price quoted on the website while booking were inclusive of all taxes and charges. However, at the hotel reception they said there would be an extra surcharge of 3% if the payment was paid via credit card. This information must be specified while booking not while checking-in.

The AC in our room wasn't working all the time so we had to call somebody to fix it which they did, but it only worked temporarily and then we had to call again.

Beautiful location, great staff. Nice pool and quiet beach. Bed was very hard. AC unit probably needed servicing as room air quality was an issue (allergies, which cleared up after check out). We had the deluxe pool/sea view, and it was common for other guests to take the loungers directly in front of our room. This created a lack of privacy and blocked the view. Perhaps the side sea view rooms would have been better as they did not have loungers directly in front of them.

Perfect for a short stay close to the airport. The pool and views are amazing for relaxing before and after travelling

The room is built in such a way that there is a whole wall of glass so there is no privacy. And as soon as you close the curtain, the room becomes really dark, the light in the room is not strong enough. We booked a side beach view room but they put us closer to the main road than the beach and it was loud… In general , the location is really close to the airport so it is really noisy during the day.

There was no water pressure at all and if you want hot water, just forget it. The bathroom fixtures were all loose and failing. One sink didnt drain because the fixture was not functioning. The towel rack and toilet paper holder just fell off the wall. The bathroom counter was covered in stains and kinda gross. The AC didnt function well enough to cool the room. There were no steps to the beach from the beach front villa. Everything in the villa was aged, paint peeling off and just very poor condition. Id say for the price we paid, we were completely ripped off.

I like the vibe mostly, but they need to improve the cleanliness and renovate my room, which looks really old and plain. It's suitable for those who don't spend much time indoors, just sleeping—then it's good enough.

Private bungalow but booked wrong area Under flight path. Noisy. Rock of a mattress. Very basic place to stay.

Friendly staff, key beach location.

Facilities, restaurant, room, staff. Location, swimming pool. I had to ask maintenance staff to fix the bathroom 2 times, the water was not heating and the drain was blocked.
