We should have allowed an extra day or two here.

We spent one night at Château-Hôtel de Bourron after visiting Fontainebleau Palace and had a really lovely stay. The grounds and buildings are beautifully kept, and the interiors have so much character. Our room was comfortable and nicely decorated, with just the right mix of charm and comfort. The main lobby and downstairs common rooms, decorated with antiques and tapestries, made us feel like we were stepping into the château’s history. The hosts were warm and welcoming, and breakfast was delicious. We wish we’d had more time to enjoy the peaceful setting before heading on our way.

This was an incredibly beautiful property. A chateau and its outbuildings. We arrived late afternoon and the sun on its walls was lovely, as were the reflections in the moat around it. After nightfall, it was beautifully lit. Decorating in the rooms was so beautiful and amenities (robe, slippers, toiletries, coffee/tee) were lovely. The common areas in the castle were also really special, with pictures of the owners and their children lovingly placed about (along with ancestors, and beautiful paintings of local scenes) and the book that the hosts provided about their family and the people who lived in the castle before them was a special touch. The hosts were so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was super. There was nothing we didn't love.

On the last night of our holiday, we try to have an exceptional night. This trip, we chose Chateau-Hotel de Bourron and we were not disappointed. The historic Chateau which has been in the owner's family for many generations provides a piece of history and glamour. Like any old girl, the Chateau carries her history but carries it off with aplomb. The owners are gracious and helpful and our room was exactly what we had seen on the Chateau website. The option of having a lift to take our luggage to our third story room was a great bonus. The Chateau grounds are vast and fully invite strolling in the evening glow. The breakfast was excellent and we totally enjoyed our little slice of luxury before heading back home. Nothing

    Everything Nothing

The Château is beautiful and well located. The grounds are beautifully maintained. It also has a small elevator to get to the third floor. It could use a minibar.

Beautiful chateau. We were in an adjacent cottage which was not as charming as the house. If we were to return, I would book a room in the main house. Lovely property for strolling or riding one of the bikes they provide. The cottage lacked character.

It was a nice stay but the breakfast and amenities are a little below the par especially for the price that we paid. It was nice to walk around and admire the chateau but that is all Breakfast was basically croissant and baguette. No eggs, etc. and doesn’t start till late like I think 730am or 8am. No pool. Bar wasn’t open and of course no restaurant. If you don’t have a car to drive around, not sure you will be stuck there.

The stay was amazing; you could really tell they paid attention to every detail in the room. It was very beautiful and cozy, with robes, plenty of towels, and a lot of space. Everything showed a great deal of care and attention to detail. Plus, the castle itself was beautiful, and you could have breakfast, walk around, and enjoy a huge park inside the grounds. They even had bicycles for you to ride, and the restaurants were incredible. The two closest restaurants were within walking distance, and there were other amazing options as well. the staff was also very kind and always attentive.

Absolutely everything! We only had one night and would have wanted more time to wander the grounds

    Exceptional

The location and accommodation is perfect to complement a trip to the Fontainebleau! The grounds are extensive but it is easy to explore on the bikes provided. The owners are very welcoming. The rooms all have their own history, which individual decor. As is to be expected in a property like this, bathrooms are all very clean but slightly dated. Breakfasts was an extra 17 euros/ person/ day, which seemed quite expensive given there were no hot options or even boiled eggs included.
