We adored our stay at De Zomere! It was in the perfect location, never more than a 5 minute walk from the main attractions of the town. It was also quiet and peaceful, and Frederick was so kind and welcoming! He clearly loves sharing his home and history with guests, and the breakfast was fantastic! The room was so comfy and quaint. I really appreciated all of the repurposing of materials as well. I would absolutely stay here again! There is no AC in the room but that was expected. We slept with the windows open though and there was a strong fan provided which helped a lot! My only complaint was that we couldn’t stay longer!

The house combines centuries of family and Bruges history with Frederik's eye for modern design - and you really feel both. Frederik will be your personal history guide for the house, town, and region if you let him, all over a delicious breakfast. A unique BnB experience.

This was by far the best B&B we’ve ever stayed in. The owner, Frederick, was extremely friendly and very hospitable. The B&B was so homey, and couldn’t be in a better location - central, yet tucked away in a quiet alley. The breakfast was delicious, clearly a lot of effort put into it, both from a taste and presentation perspective. I can’t wait to visit Bruges again so we can stay at De Zomere again!

We absolutely loved our stay. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered and the beautifully renovated historic building has such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Frederik was very attentive and shared some very interesting facts about Brugge. And the breakfast was amazing. We would happily stay here again :)

What a treat! This is easily one of the top five places we've ever stayed. Every detail was thoughtfully and carefully planned, and you can feel it the moment you walk in. The design, atmosphere, and overall experience are simply exceptional. Beyond amazing—don't hesitate, just book it!

I loved the style of the house itself and the location was wonderful. You could tell how much care went into the restoration and into ensuring guests enjoy their stay.

Such a lovely find! Perfect location close to the Markt. De Zomere is so full of history and such an interesting building. Our room was very comfy with a great shower and we appreciated the little box of chocolates on arrival! Lots of quirky details to see in the house such as lampshades made from envelopes, old shorts, lace bobbins, lights made from reclaimed parts of the house, a hidden shoe, all fascinating! Each day started with a delicious breakfast, fresh fruit salad, eggs, bacon, croissants, homemade jams. Frederik our host made us feel so welcome, and shared his time keeping us entertained with his tales of the house renovation and history of Bruges. Loved everything about our stay and will tell everyone to stay there whilst in Bruges!! Only being there for 3 nights and having to go home!

This ancient house is tucked away on a quiet cup-de-sac close to the Market Square. Our host, Frederik, grew up in the house and has performed beautiful renovations.

We went a second time to this excellent place, and it was as perfect as it was the first time. Bruges is still a very nice city and this B&B fits right in. The rooms are spacious, with a lot of history. The breakfast area fits well and you can always have a good conversation with the host Frederik. He also provided us with a delicious breakfast. Everything was perfect

The building has a history, and Frederik the host did pay attention to the details inside the building and rooms designs. The breakfasts were best! We had a chance to meet the cat Nook who is very friendly. We love to comeback again! Plus the location is very good. None

This B&B is not to be missed—it’s a truly unique home. As the oldest house in Bruges, it has been beautifully renovated into a one-of-a-kind bed and breakfast that blends history with creative design. The room was wonderful, featuring original wooden beams paired with fresh, thoughtful touches. It had everything one could need, including excellent blackout shades for a restful night’s sleep. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was exceptional. Each morning, we enjoyed an incredible breakfast with fresh-squeezed orange juice, coffee, and a generous spread of breads, yogurt, cheeses, ham, fruit, and made-to-order eggs and bacon—there was always more than enough. Frederik was a warm and engaging host who shared fascinating stories about the home, making the stay even more special. We truly felt at home here, and it was an experience we won’t forget.

We enjoy staying at B&B’s when we travel for the opportunity to talk to owners/other guests. Frederik didn’t disappoint as we stayed in his updated childhood home. He shared history about Bruges. Breakfast was wonderful and catered to individual likes. Fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious! WiFi was a bit spotty, but since we were traveling for pleasure, it wasn’t vital to our trip.
