Hotel Villa Turística de Bubión

Villa Turistica is the main hotel in the delightful, fairly remote village of Bubion. For such a small village the hotel is very well-appointed. The rooms are in self-contained apartment blocks in a lovely distributed setting with associated outdoor spaces. My single room was better than expected - two large rooms, a well-equipped bathroom and veranda. The main hotel building has a restaurant every night and the staff were welcoming and professional. My visit was a solo hiking trip of 3 days and Bubion is just about the best location for hikes up and down the Poqueira valley although a rental car is advisable. While not a problem with the hotel at all, Bubion has very limited dining options at least in April. Like many travellers, I try not to eat in the hotel restaurant every single evening as it becomes rather monotonous and unadventurous. Some nights there was nowhere else to eat within walking distance. I expect in summer the choice is larger. The car park is not large enough. When the hotel is even partially full, it's a little chaos negotiating the randomly-parked vehicles. One one occasion I had to drive into the village and park on the street, without knowing whether it was permitted!

Lovely atmosphere The safe needed a newbattery and the shower did not work because a washer was missing. The cleaner should have picked this up ..

Great little villa with a nice small garden patio. The place was larger than we expected. The view on the plaza was nice, but it’s lacking a mountain view. The village of Bubion was a bit too quiet (few restaurants opened during the middle of the week),in comparison with the nearby village Capileira.

Great facilities overall-clean room with lots of space and a lovely patio. Exceeded my expectations Could have used a coffee maker.

Great apartment with separate bedrooms for adults and the kids, lovely balcony with wonderful views down the valley, in walking distance of hotel. Breakfast was buffet style and plenty of it and lovely. Beds comfortable and shower great. Beds made up as singles for the kids which was great. Parking easy on site. All good but the little outdoor pool was closed (due to the season) which was a shame!
