Cahuita Inn

The pictures and description of the hotel do not do it justice. The rooms were the equivalent of a very nice hotel in the United States with a beautiful view of the ocean that we enjoyed each morning with our cup of Britt coffee. The location was perfect - it is next door to the marina for snorkeling and only a 3 minute walk to the park entrance. It is a short walk to our favorite breakfast/coffee place, Aroma. La Playa Negra and the Natural Pools were also within walking distance. The hotel is also a restaurant with fantastic pizza, homemade pasta, etc that you can enjoy while sitting on a patio/dock right next to the ocean. The included breakfast was fantastic - eggs with gallo pinto or pancakes and fresh fruit. The room also has a water filtration system which was great for refilling our water bottles and keeping our stomachs safe. (The last time I was in Costa Rica I ended up with horrible stomach problems from the water, so that was important to me.) And the showers have hot water! (Which was fantastic after we'd just come from a rural setting with only cold water for a week.) The hosts were incredibly gracious, allowing us to drop off our luggage before the room was ready, and providing an alternative breakfast one morning as our excursion was leaving so early. If you are wondering where to stay in Cahuita, this is the place!

This is a lovely place with a private deck on the ocean. It is coral, so not a beach for swimming - but Playa Negra is a beautiful black sand beach a mere 10 minute walk away - excellent for swimming. We had the air conditioned rooms with floor to ceiling windows looking out at the jungle and ocean as well as a lovely swimming pool. The back courtyard not only a few steps from the ocean, but also full of hammocks and wildlife, daily visits from howler monkeys and tons of birds. A beautiful place to relax. The breakfast was delightful, the staff friendly and helpful. Very clean and very close to everything in town. Many delicious restaurants within 5 minutes walk. The national park, hiking and snorkeling all within a few minutes walk. We LOVED this place and can't wait to go back.

We had a nice corner room. There was only 1 other family staying there so it was very quiet. The pool was perfect for a quick dip and there is an outdoor shower to rinse off your body or just your feet. The ocean view was amazing. The pizza was delicious (and we're from New Jersey, so we know good pizza). The breakfast included fresh ripe fruit, eggs/pancake, toast, rice and beans, all fantastic. It is walkable to restaurants and Cahuita National Park.

High quality rooms! Small hotel run by the same people as the great Italian restaurant. You have your own terrace overlooking the pool, garden and the sea. We saw lots of birds and butterflies in the garden and racoons. Highly recommended. Ingenting

Cahuita Inn is an oasis on the southern Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. Exceptional value for money, standing out head and shoulders above anything else we found in Costa Rica in this mid range price bracket. Contemporary comfort, style, security, wonderful service, delicious food, calm atmosphere, beautiful hammock strewn palm grove right on the ocean, with waves rolling in on your doorstep. It was stunning and so relaxing. If you are lucky enough to find a room, just book it! We did and extended our stay twice. Thank you so much Giuseppe, Elisa and your loyal, excellent staff team. Outstanding location with bedrooms looking across the pool to the ocean.. Very conveniently located to the National park and lots of restaurants in the town. Terrific staff and all very welcoming and helpful. A great feature was the outdoor dining by the seaside with the most amazing Italian selection of dishes served by a great Maitre D' and an excellent and high quality of Italian wines. A place we would love to return to and certainly recommending to family and friends. No hot water in hand basin.

Perfection

A small hotel with everything you need and more besides. Absolutely spotless, with staff continually sweeping up dead leaves and generally cleaning. The setting was stunning and it was wonderful sitting by the sea for our evening meal (10 out of 10 for that too). The WiFi was consistently good and the breakfast was lovely, freshly cooked to order. We were made to feel very welcome. Our room, as most rooms, was by the small swimming pool which was also immaculately kept. An added bonus was the sloths and monkeys in the grounds!
