Casa Caimari Guest House, for mountain lovers!

Lovely family owned historic guest house set in the quiet and quaint town of Caimari at the foot of the mountains. Caters to hikers and cyclists. The proprietor is absolutely lovely and very engaged with the guests. The house has a lovely tea area, common area and backyard patio. Close to an amazing cafe and several excellent restaurants. Can’t wait to return. Loved everything about the property.

Right at the footsteps of Tramuntana mountains, a dream for hikers and cyclists. Great hospitality, fantastic friendly owners. The room was cosy, if only a little small (or I am just too large?). A lot of mountain trails and some of the most famous climbs start right at the door. The front room is quite noisy late in the night.

The location is stunning, especially if you prefer somewhere quiet at the end of the day to rest your head. The locals were friendly and helpful as was our host. Previous reviews indicated that there would be a pre-packed breakfast, but this was not the case. I enquired about this in advance, but received no answer. Due to no fault of our host there was no hot water for the first half of our stay due to there having been some storms. We informed the host who promptly arranged for a plumber. However, as is often the case, he did not attend until a few days later as we arrived just before the weekend. It was a little tricky to wash off all the sun cream with cold water and shower gel. All was well in the end, but still, we were somewhat disappointed.

The property was very clean and well located. The decoration is cozy. It is a quite noisy area since it is next to the main road. The water in the shower was mainly cold since the solar panels were not working properly. The host told us to let the water run until get warm water but the waiting time was very long and the waste of water does not seem sustainable at all so we ended taking cold showers. It doesn’t matter since it is summer but in winter it is something to have in mind. Moreover, the host seems to do not trust anyone, she was doubtful about everything, I do not understand exactly the reason but the interactions were antinatural with us.

Very good

Very nice and clean place to stay. The rooms are rather small and narrow but lovely. The whole house is very clean and the interior is really beautiful. We stayed on the top floor and the temperature was very high during our stay, however thankfully it cools down a little bit more during the night in this area than in other parts of the island. Using the two ventilators we managed to sleep quite well with the window opened. There is a very nice garden to sit outside. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We didn’t like the usage of cameras in the common areas. It would also be nice if its possible to stay a bit longer outside in the evenings in the garden or the common areas, especially to cool down a bit.

Our room was nice but very hot, it could use some air conditioning or better fans. All the rest was awesome :)

Nice location for Mountain lovers. Very clean. Too many rules. be carefull about the lower roof in your room. My head was hitten by the roof many times.

Superb

The location was superb for views of, and access to the mountains. The start of the GR222 path to Lluc is literally 5 mins up the road. Caimari is a quaint village and had all the services we needed. We bussed in and out from the stop at the bottom of the village. Very convenient. Hmm. Our room was in the loft space, and the low ceilings led to one or two banged heads on the concrete beams when getting out of bed. Video cameras followed your movements as you moved around the property. I understand that this is for the owner's security, as the property is unmanned, but it did feel unsettling.

Great location for cycling and hiking. You are just on the road to Sa Calobra, Puig Major... what else and more can you wish? Very quiet town with several restaurants with very friendly people in S´Aturada and Rutaverda especialy. Casa Caimari house is a good choice if you leave early and come back late just to sleep. Not less, not more. Rosi is friendly person responding quickly whenever you need something. If you come in winter/spring time be ready to feel very cold and in the summer probably very hot (as other reviews say). Heating just to 17C is simply not a temperature you want spent a lot of time, moreover the room feels very wet and humid. Room no.3 has very low ceiling on one side, which is not ideal for 185 cm tall person. Lobby and ground floor area is very nice, chilling and cosy, but unfortunately we had that a "spy feeling" as you are always on the camera.

Pleasant

Great guesthouse, very clean, beautifully decorated, eco-friendly, exceptionally friendly host, great location for cycling and hiking, parking close by. Nothing to dislike.

It is very small room .The bathroom hasn’t got a door.It has very thin walls and you hear you neighbours very good.

The aesthetic was good I could store my luggage before check in, only between 10 and 12 though The check in is at 18. I never saw the host. The entrance is with a code and I had to ask for the room one since they didn't bother to tell at check in time. The location is only good for wandering. If you want to get to other locations in the island, it's not the best.

Rosa was very friendly and recommended lots of activities around Caimari. The room was comfortable and clean. We loved the outside patio and varying breakfast! We wouldhighly recommend Casa Caimari and its quiet and cozy atmosphere! The parking situation is a bit tricky at first, but once you find the free parking at the church, you only have to walk around 5min.

Amazing host, super clean, great location

Exceptional

The rooms were well decorated and confortable, and the suite was so spacious. You feel at home as soon as you get in, and can just enjoy every moment.

In summary, all pretty to look at, but not to spend time in, especially in summer, and if you appreciate bathroom doors (see negatives). Very artistic room. Mostly very clean and as in photos. Scenic location. Attention to detail. The host was clear with pre-arrival instructions, and responsive with answers. Received a refund for the inconveniences. If you have a moment, see for yourself how the host responds to lower reviews - this was an understatement for our stay. Unfortunately, this experience ruined our short holiday - we escaped from there wanting to return home, feeling like we've been falsely reprimanded, questioning why we were treated like we were demanding the impossible. For this reason, I'm sharing what we experienced, for future travellers to decide, whether this is the place for them. The host allowed a late arrival (around 12/1am). When we arrived, we were faced with the following: - No bathroom door. After long travels, it seemed logical my partner and I wanted to get comfy, so we decided to take turns waiting outside the room. In return, we got threatened to get kicked out (with the police) for being disrespectful of closed areas. Just for clarity, they were closed since there were people sleeping, but we got essentially shouted at for being outside the room. - The room itself: it's obvious summer is hot, but the room was easily 35degC, with two very loud fans circulating hot air and that was in the night, making it another reason to want to get some air from the corridor after long travels. - Had our luggage physically kicked by the host towards the door when leaving in the morning. - Had two dogs released and locked in without prior warning, question, or introduction (I believe it doesn't matter if they're friendly or not - the situation certainly was not). Essentially, we didn't sleep because of the noise, heat, stress, and lack of useable bathroom. This could be mentioned but ceiling heights were in places lower than 1.5m, so some hits were taken. Maybe if this information was publicly advertised, travellers that don't mind such conditions would leave happy, not unrightly embarrassed, accused of disrespect just by arriving late and being human.
