Excellent place, incredible location, very friendly and polite staff and amazingly good breakfast. The dinner at the same restaurant was also fantastic. The whole place has a Old Calcutta Colonial charm with all modern facilities. Highly recommended for a short family trip to this amazing City of Joy. There is no elevator! But that did not put us in any difficulty with our luggage. The hotel arranged for the bags to be delivered in the room.

Feels like a Victorian gentlemen’s club tucked away in the heart of the city. Wood paneling, wainscoting, steampunk objects. Nice terraced bar & smoking area. Excellent kebab restaurant and a mellow breakfast buffet w/ exquisite Indian Muzak. Wish it had a gym

Room was immaculate and efficient. It was an odd shape, and a little smaller than I expected, but very comfortable. The location was very convenient and the staff was excellent. Breakfast was delicious with lots of variety. I think they could make more of their storied history. The remodel has made the hotel quite modern in many ways, but it would be nice if they could include more traditional decoration and history.

Breakfast was quite decent with usual Indian and continental options- it lacked some salad options though. There was nothing , in particular, that we didn't like. We enjoyed our stay and it was very comfortable.

Very friendly staff and a great location! Easy to walk to the Park St area and a quick cab ride to much of the city. Rooms were comfortable and they had a quick laundry service. Breakfast was nice and the restaurant was never too crowded. Rooms could have been a bit cleaner and there was some very loud construction during our stay.

The staff are amazingly good. They are superb. Very old Calcutta, not brash and very attentive and helpful. Many hotels can learn from the staff what the word 'hospitality' means. The breakfast should be improved. I was expecting proper sausages, bacon, cold cuts, cheese, etc. The choice of breads was limited to white and brown. Smaller hotels serve a wider choice of bread. Entire breakfast menu should be changed. And could the management please introduce better coffee?

We had a lovely stay at The Astor (Heritage suite).. Staff were very helpful and polite. Excellent breakfast. Room service meals were also very good. Wonderful stay. We will be back when we visit Kolkata next.

The Interior look and location. Staff is friendly and helpful. They have rooms that don't have windows due to heritage type property. And also hard for handycapp and older persons due to lack of lift. The Restaurent seating area can be improved.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Believe all of the comments regarding music playing at obscene levels until 3AM!! Our room was literally shaking and rattling from the absurdly loud bass. We called up to complain and they DID NOTHING. Worst night’s sleep we’d had in decades. A truly horrendous experience. DO NOT STAY HERE. See what I liked about it - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Location was good but the rest of it was a horrifying experience. Being kept awake all night without them giving a damn, was the most disappointing. Mediocre, over-priced food. Seriously DO NOT STAY HERE. Absolutely terribly run hotel that will keep you awake all night.
