Nílu Cancun Downtown by Selina

my bed was not clean on arrival,i asked to change the linen ,they did.A few years ago i stay on Selina a week and i liked it more

Very close to bus station and good restaurants nearby. They have water so that you can fill up your bottle. Check in slow. I was tired wanted to go the bed real soon and the desk guy was moving at a glacier pace. Besides they have no terminal for card payments. You have to do it in a lap top.

Near ADO station and centro. Bathroom gets a little dirty after afternoon.

Check-in was easy. Filtered water was available at the reception area. The room was not properly cleaned. There was dirt on the floor even after the cleaning service came. There was dirt on the bathroom counter as if it had not been touched in weeks. The same was true of the sink and shower. Hair (not mine) was on the floor in every area of the room. The toilet paper was not in the dispenser and when the cleaning person(s) came, no additional toilet paper was provided. I had to ask for it. The added local taxes of nearly $20 USD were not expected on top of cost of the room. I had to leave a 100 pesos deposit for the electronic key, but the door to the 4-person dorm did NOT lock. I had to tell staff 3 times before the lock was fixed. Safety...???? The cost of the room was not commensurate with the accommodations. It felt like Motel 6 with a price tag of Hampton Inn. The added local taxes of nearly $20 were not expected on top of cost of the room and the taxes and fees already paid. **** This property isn't on par with the cost regardless of the fact that this is a hostel. I spent a lovely 5 days in Merida at a Hostel that was less expensive, clean, and provided breakfast w/ coffee, juice and tea every day. A very disappointing stay!!

Location was next to bus transportation It was great walking across and comfortable.

swimming pool and quietness have to carry the beautiful hotel tag all times for the security check before enter the hotel. I mean, why cant they just attach it with the key?

Facilities are run down, old, not well maintained. Way too expensive for what you get.

Acceptable for 1-2 nights stay. Reception staff was ok, however nowhere online or in person did they mention pool and restaurant was closed for renovations. Kitchen was a good size with 2 fridge. No pool or restaurant was under repair. Room smells mouldy. No air conditioning in common area. Very hot and sticky feel. I canceled my reservation.

The bed was comfortable, the room had everything you need and it was close to the ado bus station thats why i booked it Unfortunately the day i came the whole pool area was closed, the cinema was closed so the only place i was able to hang was my room.

Great location - a 5-minute walk to ADO bus station. The 6-bed female dorm was as expected - bed was comfy and locker storage adequate. I had a short over night stay and it was just what i needed.

I got upgraded to a room where i was in thw end alone. Pool, cinema nor wifi were working.

Just the location to the bus station. That’s all I was satisfied with. First of all it wasn’t the room that I asked for . It was a very tiny room with a bed in it. That’s all it had no TV no amenities no nothing. And it had no in room bathroom . it was one bathroom you had to share with everybody i had to use that isn’t what I expected. I wanted a room with my own separate bathroom, I didn’t get it and I wouldn’t recommend this place to no one it was really disappointing if you asked me.

I liked the clean and fresh room, the location and the price. I would stay there again if needed - yet it did not reach my expectations compared to other Selina accomodations. The bathrooms and showers were not always clean. The showers had nowhere to hang your clothes without them getting wet, nor where to change that was not a public space. I needed to use internet, and the wifi was not working. This really complicated my stay, yet the staff didn’t seem to bother too much about it.

Super close to the Ado bus station. Slight room mix-up was handled well!? The site may be better updated with room titles, as I think Booking.com is not updated yet. The music will play until 3 am during the holidays. And play extremely loud. Don't read these all the reviews saying the same thing and think "its ok, im different, im sure I'll find sleep." You will not sleep here. No one sleeps here. Stay for a night or two only. However long you can go without sleep.

I have stayed at other Selina Hotels and enjoyed them, however, the only two positives about Selina Downtown Cancun is 1- the location is perfect, very close the the ADO bus which is a safe, fast, and affordable option getting to and from the airport. Close to many shops and restaurants, even a grocery store. 2- the staff was kind and apologetic for the inconvenience. It wasn’t as clean as I expected, I can never prove it but I’m not entirely convinced the bedding was clean. When I pulled the sheet back to get into bed there was hair in it- not mine obviously, because I had just checked in and it was darker than mine. My biggest issue with the property is that they did not have hot water during my stay due to renovations, this was never communicated to me either before I arrived or, even when I checked in. After a long day of travel I went to my room to take a shower and clean up, but had no hot water. I quickly rinsed myself in the cold uncomfortable water and then got dressed to go downstairs to the front desk and find out how to get it on. It was at this time I was informed for the first time that there would not be hot water available during my three day stay. I at that time expressed my disappointment that this wasn’t communicated to me before my arrival or at least when I checked in. This was very shocking to me. I only stayed the one night. I checked out the following night (2 nights early) because after a beautiful excursion to Chichén Itzá and Chichikan cenote I knew that spending another night would only ruin my great day and I dreaded going back to cold water and iffy bed. I found a similar priced hotel down the road that DID have hot water, an increíble pool and also much better reviews. I did get charged for two nights, but I left because basic amenities not being available. Nobody asked me why I checked out unexpectedly, but I am sure they knew. I should have read the reviews more carefully before booking instead of trusting my previous Selina experiences at other locations and in other countries. Very disappointing.
