Grand Hotel Cannigione

Overall, the accommodation is good thanks to its location and comfortable rooms, but the breakfast could definitely be improved. Unfortunately, the breakfast was quite disappointing. The selection was very limited, and throughout our entire week the only vegetables available were a few tomatoes and some lettuce leaves. We were also surprised that omelets and pancakes were only available for an additional charge, as we expected them to be included.

It is fairly clean and not far from the beach. The restaurant staff are not smiling and not happy of working in there. Once you ask something from them they are muttering. Even though the property is not old, the decoration sucks. The beach is 10 minutes walk and the website misleads you that it looks like the hotel is located by the beach. I definitely don’t recommend it.

Beautiful property, friendly staff, loved the pool/garden area and decor. Pictures don’t do a justice to how pretty the hotel is. Walking distance to city center and many restaurants.

- Room was lovely and was really clean! Lovely toiletries in the room too. Loved the beach bag that could be used and you could use beach towels everyday (even when not using private beaches!) - Staff were so helpful; we had an issue with our rental car and they helped to call mechanics to discuss! So grateful! - Lovely decor around the property and pool area - For a 5* hotel the spa facilities and breakfast felt quite underwhelming - I feel we have had better elsewhere where it wasn’t 5*! We felt the spa could have had a jacuzzi. - That you couldn’t bring your own drinks or snacks into the room, complimentary water daily would be a nice touch.

The property should not have a 5 star rating. For what we paid I don’t think we got what we should have gotten. The hotel was nice, but not amazing at all. Location was fair.

The internet speed was too slow

Room was lovely. Beach facilities fabulous with shuttle bus. Staff nice. No free water in room. No coffee machine in room (instant). Got charged €4 for taking a coffee with me to go from breakfast. Drinks expensive by pool/bar. Overall felt 4 star.

Hotel smaller than expected. Definitely not a resort. NO BAR! Very quiet - too quiet! Boring actually. Must rent a car or you feel trapped. There is a small town you can walk to with beautiful coastal views where you can charter a boat for the day (a must do!). The staff was very friendly. Clean, pretty hotel. If you’re looking to just relax and do nothing, this is the place. No views, no bar, too quiet, boring.

Very helpful & professional staff, quiet hotel/pool area/room, comfortable bed, clean & modern bathroom, excellent spa treatments (Sonia was wonderful), local restaurants within 10-min walk Limited breakfast buffet, expensive food/drink options in hotel restaurant, small pool area (mostly shaded), shuttle to beach (but worth it), no complimentary water, not allowed to bring food onsite (even to consume in room)...overall, didn't feel 5-star

No iron provided we had to pay 55 euros to have two dresses and a shirt/trousers ironed. Other clothes remained wrinkled for our stay. You do not expect this from a 5 star hotel. No shampoo/conditioner in room which was fine but unusual. On the way in we had to sign something to say you were not allowed snacks from outside the hotel in your room, again very odd. Beach and deck required a shuttle service which was our own fault for not researching but quite inconvenient to have to wait for shuttles there and back. Hotel generally seems quite dated and smelled very strongly of the kitchen.
