Very satisfying

When we checked in the staff up front were not helpful at all. We had two different rooms in different parts of the hotel which required different elevators. They didn't guide us and watched us all get on tje wrong elevators. Honestly, I was irritated after a day of traveling. Also, not one water in the room.

The hotel is at the quieter end of the beachfront, which was a positive for us. It’s roughly a 20–30 minute walk to many of the restaurants & shops in town. I would have liked 24-hour coffee & tea service in the lobby. There is a Keurig-type coffee maker in the room, but nothing for making tea and only tap water available. My biggest issue was on day three, when the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning. I called the front desk to ask where guests should go for safe shelter. I was transferred around, & the last person I spoke with responded, “It’s not even raining!”Regardless of the weather outside at that moment, hotel staff should know the emergency procedures. Overall, we had a nice trip & Cape May itself was enjoyable to experience but for us it was a one and done destination.

Overpriced place

My only disappointment, and this will not apply to most people, is that there was amplified live music during dinner time, from 6 to 9 every evening, and we would have liked to eat and hang out on our balcony facing the pool. Unfortunately the music was quite loud, and impossible to ignore. Because of it we had to stay indoors or go out during those hours. I realize I am difficult on this matter, because most people like pop music or can tune it out, As a professional musician that is not the case for me. Other than that we had a fabulous time in Cape May and at La Mer, truly a class act. The weather cooperated and the beach was wonderful. I will definitely stay again at La Mer.

They really need sheer curtains under those black out curtains! We felt like we were in a cave most of the time because we faced the parking lot. Everything else was fine.

Very clean and friendly staff

View from balcony was fabulous. Will be returning next year.

We have been staying at La Mer since the early 1990’s. They continue to improve the facilities and the grounds are beautiful. Very family friendly and the staff is very helpful.
-
Expected more at that price point.

Our family had a great stay at La Mer! The front desk staff was extremely helpful (shout out to Shannon!), and all of the staff at the beach, pool and restaurant were helpful, pleasant and attentive. The housekeeping staff kept our room top notch! Bike rentals were on premises and so easy! Parking was easy too! Highly recommend La Mer if you want to enjoy Cape May with your family!

I would have preferred more water stations to fill up water bottles. The staff was friendly and the area was very clean. Breakfast was also phenomenal.

If u book at this hotel they give u automatic beach towel chairs and 1 umbrella , me and my wife had fun , beach was very clean ..

Great property for a Cape May beach trip.
-
The value is not there for the price . The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything from the pool. The non renovated rooms don't even have basic amenities like a smart TV only basic tv. All in all it was just ok but for the price I expected more.

Clean room, amazing view, fantastic private beach with food/drink service, well maintained pool, and delicious restaurant. Will be coming back for more.

Love the people , the place and the service.

La Mer is a beautiful hotel with wonderful amenities. We stayed in a renovated room, which was spacious and included a kitchenette. There was plenty of storage, a roomy closet, the bed was very comfortable and it was kept extremely clean. The beach service was great, offering as many towels, chairs and umbrellas as you needed. There was live entertainment each evening, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool area was also very nice and well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will be back again.
