I found some aspects quite run down. The shutter in my room was not secure, as the bar just below the hook had been broken out, allowing for someone to unlock it from the outside. The curtains looked old and were stained with what looked like blood streaks . The hand towel for the bathroom was severely stained, and one couldn’t figure out if it was dirt or just stains that couldn’t be removed in the wash. As I was a single guest, I simply didn’t use it. The grill covering the extractor fan in the bathroom was completely clogged with dust from years of not being cleaned. I also feel that the security of the main entrance is not good. To simply have a door with a lockable door knob without a security gate in this part of the city seems totally inadequate. There was no safe in my room to lock away valuables and passports. These are, again, issues that can easily be resolved with minimal expense, and would really bring this guesthouse up to the level it advertises at.

I enjoyed the quietness and the jacuzzi was a treat. Leaving, was a very comfortable room.

Had an amazing view from the balcony and the staff where very friendly and efficient. The beds where really comfortable and overall I really enjoyed my stay here. Will definitely be back in the future!

Location, clean, comfortable, safe

The staff were friendly and efficient and not intrusive We liked the additional security offered on site and on the road The venue suited our needs and expectations. We did not use the extra facilities like kitchen, sauna or jacuzzi. We had a good stay with good value and could not fault

Exactly as pictured, close to table mountain. Need to phone to get the gate open to get in. Good communication with host prior to arrival. No tea/coffee in room but was in a room across the hall. Very good location for airport (20min) and table mountain.

This beautifully renovated Victorian style home offered great view of Table Mountain in a safe neighborhood. The Belvedere offered no thrill comfortable accommodation. You don’t even get complimentary drinking water in the room. We had made reservations to use the jacuzzi one early evening but the water was barely warm. You barely see much of the staff to ask for anything. The bed is very comfortable and the Aircon worked great and there were plenty of power outlets.

The room, clean and confortable No relationships with the owner.

The visit was once again lovely. It's definitely one of my favorite places in Cape Town. It was a lovely evening and I could sit on the balcony and enjoy the view. Had a wonderful evening and slept well. Thank you Belvedere Nothing, everything was super

I loved that I was in the heart of Cape Town but didn't feel like it. Tranquility and relaxation. Was comfortable and everything was fabulous. Nothing, everything was perfect.

Perfect for the overnight we were looking for. Enjoyed the sauna and jacuzzi. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The pillows if you do not like very high pillows! A reminder to travel with my own pillow. Everything else was great. Would recommend a little Q20 on the squeaky cupboard doors and dimming the passage lights at night as they shine in through the doors which do not seal well.

Location Wasnt what we expected, no bath tub as advertised, shower door broken, and general appearance of the room was not up to the price. Condoments like sugar, in a plastic tub, electric outlets not neat and lay on the floor. The fact that you pay so much without breakfast is hectic.

Nomi is a lovely lady and a warm host. The linen and towels were clean. The mattress needs to be replaced. The carpet in the room should be updated with laminated flooring to be more hygienic. The dark decor, but that's a personal preference. The outside of the building needs attention.

Realy nice owner and staff! Last day we had to go away, but we were able to leave our bags all day behind the reception and could even use 1 of the rooms for a quick shower before heading to the airport. Lovely place and location! Beautifull view at Table mountain in the evening btw!

The colonial house is beautifully decorated, the bed was very comfortable and the room had a balcony outside and you can lay in bed with the door open and get the fresh air from the mountain. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The house has a fully equipped kitchen and dinning area which is very convenient. The location is very good and quiet. We really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend it. The rooms have a carpet, it was clean but i prefer the wooden floors like the rest of the house.

Naomi who manages the Guest House is delightful and very caring and accommodating. She really looked after me very well. Bed was most comfortable. Location is good - 15 minutes downhill walk to Gardens Centre. Good WIFI The lighting in room 4 is very poor - the main light is fine but the bedside lights have very dim globes which means you are in virtual darkness - it is impossible to read in bed at night. The room itself is nicely decorated but it is rather dark due to the color scheme. There is no functioning window in the room as it is permanently stuck. For fresh air you have to open the doors onto the shared verandah - at night I had to close the green wooden shutters and leave the doors open as I don't use the aircon. From a security point of view this is not the best arrangement security wise. The upkeep of the exterior of the building has been overlooked - shutters need repairs, paint is peeling in places. The Owners need to pay attention to these details as they are charging a rate on par with other guest houses in the area. i needed some emergency first aid but was told there is no first aid kit - the Owners are obliged to have one on site ito Health & Safety Regulations. Naomi kindly showed me the other rooms in the Guest House which have proper windows, lots of natural light etc. If I was to stay there again I would book one of those well in advance.
