Hotel is in a large mansion but we were in a newer "garden room" which had a sitting area/tv/coffee stn/small frig. - small bottle of sparkling & still water provided daily. Otherwise there's a charge (had to ask if tap water ok for filling coffee maker). Separate small bdrm. Delicious made-to-order breakfast + yummy pastries. Enjoyed "special dinner" at de Tafel restaurant (look up on line). Sadly, a number of things: Mattress a bit soft. Towels stored in the closet, no towel racks in bathroom, just 2 double hooks next to shower so towels stay damp, inconvenient for washing face. No plug access in br so must use hair dryer at the only outlet in bdrm at desk. Did NOT like fancy brand conditioning shampoo: never felt like my hair got clean, had to use shower gel. Lotion was ok. Housekeeping VERY understaffed and twice during our stay called to see if rm would be straightened up (past 3 in the afternoon! By 4th day realized they'd eventually get there - kind of a pain to have to vacate for them to work. This did work to our advantage on checkout day, hanging out in room 'til housekeeping showed up at 2:30, otherwise we would have had to pay R300/hour for late checkout after 11!). Multiple families with small children so meals sometime s noisy as was the pool; didn't get to enjoy quiet, relaxing time - our choice but disappointing to not get to use the pool/sit outside in the middle of the day nonetheless. Other than 2 complimentary bottles of water/day provided by housekeeping, all water is charged for! No one asks if you want 'a glass' of water, you're sold an expensive bottle... yet the tap water is what fills coffee maker in room!

What a beautiful place such a peaceful lovely property, so well maintained, a true gem in the heart of Cape Town suburbs.
-
The only downside was the loud music from the birthday event they hosted . It made early sleep challenging since it only turns off at 22:00.

No complaints.

The staff, the checking in process and the linen - EXCELLENT The size of the room and bed and were disappointing - for a 5Star one expects and king size bed not double

Beautiful grounds, excellent food, the friendliest and most—accommodating staff. Location was also perfect for touring different parts of Cape Town.

We booked for a normal room for our wedding night, they not only upgraded us to the honeymoon suite for free, they also gave a gift from the staff. The place was a bit difficult to get into and out but they all round have a lot of space when you already in the place.

Great pool and spa facilities, complemented by an extremely friendly and welcoming staff. The hotel is also conveniently located close to the start of the Two Oceans Marathon and I was even offered an early morning transfer to the starting point. A standout surprise was discovering that Gregory Henderson is running his signature restaurant right in the hotel, focusing on indigenous and wild ingredients. I had the pleasure of enjoying a four-course meal that was not only amazing but also very affordable. The casual atmosphere made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended! At first, I was placed in a room close to a rather noisy ventilation system, but the hotel kindly offered me a much quieter room for my last night

Loved the hotel! The rooms, the ambience and the staff are just amazing. We had a wonderful stay in the Palm House Boutique Hotel. It’s a beautiful property offering old world charm and luxury, away from the crowds. No queues for breakfast, one is served exceptional a la carte breakfast, with individual attention to each and every guest. There is a school right next to the property which can be a bit noisy in the mornings, other than that this is a great place to relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The rooms are spacious with lovely views of the mountains and the greenery around. The food is great and the staff are super welcoming and hospitable. We just loved everything about this boutique hotel located in the veterans Wynberg suburb.
