Hotel La Culla del Lago

The hotel is located in a quiet and beautiful area on Lake Albano and there is a wonderful view of the lake. The grounds and the building are charming and our room was large but the deco was a bit outdated. We had to leave early in the morning and we were served breakfast early. When we arrived, the man working at reception was a bit curt but all-in-all the staff was great.

Amazing food. staff and hotel rooms, grounds and view. Very beautiful relaxing hotel. Only downside need taxi or long walk to go anywhere. Not prohibitive, though since most people taxi anyway. I just love to walk everywhere. Staff easily orders taxis.

Everything perfect

Our stay at La Culla del Lago was simply perfect. The panoramic lake view is stunning—peaceful, calming, and the ideal backdrop for a relaxing getaway. What truly sets this place apart is the incredible hospitality. The owners are hands-on and personally involved in every aspect of the service. Their warmth, attention to detail, and genuine care made us feel right at home. The restaurant is outstanding—perfect for a refined dinner experience, and in the morning, we enjoyed breakfast with a breathtaking sunrise over the lake. Every meal felt special, and the setting made it even more memorable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic hospitality, exceptional food, and unforgettable views. The only downside is that it can be difficult to find an Uber or taxi in the area, especially at off-peak times. However, the hotel staff is very helpful in arranging taxis and making transportation as smooth as possible, concierge-level service.

Located Lakeside with a covered Terrace overlooking the lake, with only the sound of the birds, makes this location 10. offers ample easy parking on site. The staff could not be better. Breakfast on the terrace is most enjoyable. Comfortable beds. Plenty of hot water for showers. Also nice, ample electrical outlets. Super clean Unless sleeping or eating, there was really no comfortable area. No comfortable area in which to lounge with friends. The room furnishings though lovely need refining to make them more user friendly, ie to make suitcase more easily accessible or clothing more easily unpacked. Overall, decor needs major update to maintain current rate.

The room was spacious and clean with amazing views over the lake as we did pay a bit extra for the lake views. The location was fantastic with a great choice of restaurants and bars. The hotel restaurant does not open on a Monday and typically we were staying Monday, slightly disappointed that we could not eat there as the menu looked great and the views from the restaurant are amazing. We paid for room and breakfast but the breakfast was not included (free) to an extent, let me explain, there are certain items on the menu that are free I.E "basic items such as pastries" all the good items such as "bagel with cream cheese and salmon or meats etc" where not free, so it's not really breakfast included when you're having to pay for that, so be prepared to pay for breakfast as the items you will definitely want are not included.

The location of Hotel La Culla Del Lago is just amazing. The view and private beach makes this a dream-vacation. I really recommend to take a long run or hike around the lake, its really is something! Friendly staff and amazing food as well.

This is our second visit due to the location. We were willing to pay a premium for the lake view. The location is wonderful. The house is surrounded by a lush Mediterranean garden and everywhere there are sunbeds and umbrellas. A little sandy platform is provided from where you can get straight into the lake. The air con was very efficient which was a god send given the heatwave The check in experience was not so pleasant. The man at the desk was quite surly and not very welcoming, like he was doing us a favor in allowing us to stay there. But other staff members were friendly . Quite pricey for a three star hotel

Large room with balcony. Views of lake were amazing. Private jetty/ sunbed area right next to water. Great dinner and entertainment as we stayed on a Saturday night. Complementary breakfast was delicious. Bed was uncomfortable. Walls/doors were thin could hear other guests entering their room

The hotel is quaint and very beautiful in a very quiet, tranquil location. The staff were very good and welcoming. They were happy to help with anything we asked of them. The room was quite small but it didn’t bother us, as we spent time out all the time. The restaurant sits and looks out over the lake, the view is amazing. On top of that the food and wine are exceptional, I really can’t rate the food high enough! Nothing.

location is absolutely amazing, sitting on the side of the lake with views from thenbedroom across the lake was fanastic. staff were great and ever so helpful. there was a wedding party on the night we stayed but the hotel made suggestions ofr dinner locally which were superb as well. breakfast was very disappointing. there was nothing in the restaurant only a small menu card with a choice of five sweet cakes and three savoury toast options included then five egg dishes at extra cost. drinks juices etc were a guessing game as no list available. having had some amazing italian hotel breakfasts this disappointed

Very friendly and helpful staff. We had an early flight and they were there to let us out of the gate at 3am no problem. Very convenient for a Ciampino airport. Beautiful view of the lake.

Pleasant

Amazing location, next to the lake. Green, quiet, birds, nature and the splashing of water. Bed was comfortable, the AC was working properly. Beautiful view from the room to the lake. Great breakfast, staff were kind enough. First of all and as a general rule, rent a car. We had to use a taxi to get to a venue 10 minutes away and we paid €70 for both trips, no receipt. They called the cab for us and obviously the driver knew he had us by the throat since there weren't any other services around. Plus it's way cheaper to rent a car for the duration, if you add all the taxi costs it is super expensive. Important: mosquitoes! I suppose they air the rooms by opening the door and windows. We had to kill 10 (!) mosquitoes in the room! Imagine how we would have woken up if I didn't do that. They provide a plug-in repellent, but honestly it's a small room, it doesn't really matter. Also, the water in the toilet tank literally takes FOREVER to refill... at least 5 minutes after each use. And the shower head is set in place overheadz and unmovable.

The location and tranquility of the spot is amazing. The place could do with a refurb in some areas, but it’s not an issue that will take away from the experience considering the location, the environment and the price.
