Mario was such a nice guy who made me feel very welcome at Casa Valeria. He recommended me plenty of restaurants and offered me tips what to do in Catania. Bed was very comfy and everything was perfectly clean. Would stay there again. The room was a bit dark but it was not a big deal as I was outside during the day.

Mario is a great host, the location is very good, and the flat has everything needed.

The location was perfect, safe neighborhood, the host was nice, for me a bit too friendly (maybe it's just the cultural difference) but I think he had good intentions:) Bed was comfortable, the room was clean. The staff at the cafe serving the breakfast was very welcoming. The breakfast was just one croissant or one pastry of your choice and a coffee so you should take this into account when choosing. Also keep in mind that the host doesn't speak English -although he tries his best. You can't pay by card at the property, nor pay through Booking. So you either have cash or Paypal. But in the end we solved the problem by me transferring the money to his bank account with the help of the Booking customer service interpreting among us.

The minuses for us was people smoking on what could be described as a closed terrace/patio and the smoke was everywhere, reaching our room. The terrace and the bathroom were moldy and smelling like mold, but if you/your family are not allergic to mold I guess it would not bother you. As such we avoided staying too much in the b&b and spent most of the time outdoors in the city.
