House Vintage

The staying tax ("tassa di soggiorno" in Italian) was something that I would have liked to be aware of immediately when booking. It was an information that I got on the day of my arrival to the structure. I would like to be informed of all costs before making the reservation

Great location, close to the main spots and very welcoming staff!

The house is located close to the historical center, in walking distance from most of the important things to visit. The room is very big, with two queen beds in it. Hot running water was an extremely pleasant surprise since the house is quite cold. Milena is a warming host and was kind to direct us to some great restaurants near by. Not very clean, in my opinion. The house is old, vintage as the name says, but the floors are extremely cold, no carpets on them so house slippers are a must to pack. The towels are not very absorbant and after one use they got a damp smell. No toiletries, except some liquid soap. There is no heating, only an old AC that doesn't do much. It definitely has room for improvement.

Very central location. Within walking distance of Catania market, Christmas markets, restaurants and churches. Always our choice when we visit. Very accommodating hosts too.

the super dirty horror hostel experience If you're into location and 8th century floors – that's your place to be but if you want anything more – skip it at all costs. The super noisy air conditioner is barely puffing any air. The balcony is unusable as the air conditioner's external part is occupying it in full. The room is super tiny, unwalkable you basically have a bad to live on. Unfortunately you can't see this on the property photos as they've clearly used a wide lens camera. The bad sheets have definitely not been washed for us. Even worse – we had to share it with our 3 year old, because that's the way it was – we booked for three people and yet we had to share a persona-and-a-half bad. The mattress itself is the most uncomfortable and the pillows have such lumps that it's better to sleep without them. There is no space for your belongings – clothes, shoes, toiletries – you'll have to use all your stuff out of the suitcase. Not to mention there wasn't any water, coffee or fridge available for us. The PRIVATE bathroom WAS OUTSIDE OF THE ROOM, accessible through a common space. The douche was falling on our heads and the shower gel was so diluted that it barely made any foam. The mold on the bathroom walls was a bonus experience I suppose.

Good staff, helpful and polite. The apartment is a museum itself with vintage flores and doors.

I liked that the host used her phone and, with the right app, we communicated perfectly since she didn’t speak English, only Italian. Mrs. Dina was very polite. The house is old but very central. It gives the impression of being dirty, but as she mentioned in her notice, the very old and worn floor creates that impression. The bathroom had everything you needed; it was a spacious bathroom, but since it didn’t get much sunlight, there was a slight musty smell. Even though we arrived late, we spoke with her husband, Mr. Marco, who welcomed us. Additionally, they provided us with a space to leave our belongings since our flight was late in the evening. I would return because my visit wasn’t about staying in the room but exploring beautiful Catania!

The apartment's location is perfect. Right in the centre of Catania, close to lots of cafeterias and places of interest. The apartment was super clean, Milena so accommodating. She let us check-in before, since, we arrived earlier and kept our luggage for us after checkout as we had a left trip.

Exceptional

The location is great - right on the main street but in the backyard of the building, so the room is quiet. The owner was very helpful, she lent us her water kettle so we could make a tea in the evening and she let us leave our bags in the house after check out till we had to go to the airport. The room is tiny for 2 people, but enough for 1 or 2 nights. The bed / mattrass is unfortunately pretty uncomfortable.

Great location and still quiet (apartment is in a courtyard). Very friendly host, offered to keep our luggage if needed after check-out. Doesn't feel very private when you have to cross the common room to get to the bathroom. No kettle or even a glass to drink water in the whole apartment.

The lovely beautiful host miliena was so very sweet to us...she went out of her was to make sure we was comfortable ifact we wanted to stay longer...its a beautiful clean place xxx I can't say there was anything we didn't like...are all experience here was wonderful ❤️

It is situated in the centre, near to the sights and the airport bus stop as well.The owner is a very kind and helpful lady.
