The owner does her best given what the rooms actually are and the surprisingly noisy location. More on that below. Great and partly homemade breakfast. Very good parking. Sorry but we are not going to lie. First and foremost: the rooms are very small and the bathrooms literally tiny. An average European or American will not be able to sit on the toilet straight in the rooms we had. We wish we were exaggerating. A huge fail in that regard. That is not hospitality. That feels like staying at grandmas small guest bedroom. The second thing that surprised us that one expects the house to be in a nighttime quiet rural village only to find out the windows open to the roadside in the centre of town with trucks and farmer vehicles racing by as early as 3 at night. And not just one but many per hour. Who would have thought that ? Then there is the ease of access : from the parking guests need to go up a steep flight of outdoor wooden stairs to get to the house. Or you can short park in front of the house at street level but then you are literally blocking the road mentioned above. Then inside the house another stairs needs to be conquered with luggage that is quite narrow leading to two of us almost or in fact one fully loosing balance with the trolley. The decoration of the rooms was not our taste but that is personal and unimportant in view of the other points mentioned above. To compare : we then drove unto a villa style house in the Cote d’Azur of 120 m2 overlooking the Mediterranean that is only 50 percent more expensive per night than these very small and all in all not very comfortable rooms. Hence : the rooms are really overpriced for what is offered.

What a lovely location in an interesting building with a long history, set in a calm village with easy walks to enjoy. Our room had lovely garden views, a comfortable bed and en suite bathroom, all decorated to a high standard. Breakfast was delicious, including tastes of local produce. Our only negative was a poor phone signal which meant paying by card didn’t work easily, luckily we had cash.

The room.and breakfast Being asked to move the car within car park ( without patking guidelines) in a hostess monologue before we had even seen the room. A later visitor then parked exactly where we had been originally. No kettle in room.

Loved the quaint style of the place and the hotel lady we met was just so so lovely. When asked about dinner (which was very good by the way) we ate at a large table with the other guests. Was okay after a while but language was an issue.
