Ascott Raffles City Chengdu

The room is nice and spacious. Beds are comfortable. Access to the Mall downstairs was helpful though the mall is relatively "basic" without many choices of restaurants/shops. Check in was efficient and directions provided clearly. Room can be cleaned more properly. The cutlery was rather "dirty" (stains on tea cups), and were not cleaned every day after usage. There was a "concierge" (a young man at the desk) but he was just standing there, no greetings, no smiles. WIFI is a problem, rather unstable. The wall USBs in one of the rooms didn't work at all despite the repairman coming up and trying to fix it. Location - we called cabs but most of the time, the drivers found it difficult to get to exactly where we were (as they stopped usually at the Office side). Windows are very dirty (seems a problem with Ascott Raffles hotels as we had the same opinion having also stayed in Ascott Chongqing!) so views are "compromised" (but to be fair, they had a note in room saying there were workmen cleaning outside though we didn't see any during our stay).

Clean and spacious family themed room with two separate areas (bedrooms with bathrooms connected in the middle with living room). Hotel is build literally on the shopping mall and is connected right from the reception to the shops, which was great. Breakfast on the highest floor were tasty, with perfect view. Swimming pool was warm and nice (opened until 10 pm). They cleaned room every day, but if you skipped some day(s), there were "prices" for children available. The wifi was working great (much better then in other hotel in China), the staff was polite and speak little bit english. We were leaving late, so we left our luggage for 10 hours on the reception, which was not problem at all. Hotel was somewhere between the main Chengdu areas - 10-15 minutes by taxi to the center, and 10-15 minutes to the other side to the new business center with twin towers, global center and bamboo fountains. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Slightly higher price, but I think its ok considering the quality of the accommodation.

Our family of 2 adults & 5 children thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ascott Chengdu. The hosts were super accomodating and helpful whenever we needed help. The breakfast was amazing with lots of choices we loved, and Lisa (one of the breakfast waitresses) came to greet our family and help out every single morning. Our apartment was comfortable, spacious, quiet, and well-stocked with necessities, including high-quality kitchen appliances and pots and pans. The location was central and convenient, although there were not many parks in walking distance. The pool and children's play room were great and we used it many times. Our children enjoyed collecting the pandas they gave for skipping the room cleaning service. It was easy to get groceries or a quick meal downstairs in the mall that is in the same building. We found it to be a very family-friendly and accomodating hotel and would love to be back.

The customer service was very good — the staff responded quickly and were always helpful whenever we had requests. Super Convenient that it’s linked to the mall downstairs. Staff was generally helpful. Cleaning ladies were very polite n nice. Corridors to the apartment felt rather tight and claustrophobic. Parts of apartment felt dated but generally clean n value for money.

Great location: close to a metro station with two subway lines. The place in on top of a shopping mall, with lots of shops. Plenty of restaurants near by too. Good breakfast: The hotel breakfast buffet provides non-spicy or oily food that can help to get the day started (Local food can be very oily, salty and spicy). The cleaning staff were great! Not much.

Location is convenient with a large shopping centre next door and close to a metro station. Breakfast included Western and Chinese options with a wonderful view.

The room was so spacious! It was great with the 2 kids as they had their private room and bathroom. The room theme was a big bonus for my daughter. It was quiet and we had a great sleep. AC was working fine, water pressure good as well. The breakfast could have been improved. The hot food was mainly served cold (ex: sunny side up eggs, etc...). The tables were not clean enough, seems like they only wipe with a humid rag instead of spraying detergents on the table.

We were in a one bedroom apartment on a high floor, clean, good view and well equipped. The washing machine washes and dries. The location is part of the Raffles City mall, with many shops and good eateries, 5 mins from a metro station. The TV has CNN. Breakfast was better than average with mostly Chinese dishes. None

- Conveniently connected to a mall with supermarket and lots of food eateries plus shopping from notable brands. - Large spacious room with blackout curtains and spacious bathroom - Separated toilet and shower room, with large bath tub. Decent water pressure - Kitchenette with laundry and free detergent was very convenient for long stays - Comfortable King sized bed - Daily housekeeping with incentives for skipping each day of housekeeping - Large breakfast spread with Asian and western cuisine - We booked 2 of the same rooms (Studio Premier) which should include kitchenette + laundry, however one of the rooms we were given did not have these. When we asked reception, they said that the given room was "correct but layout and size was just different" - which was absurd as it was completely missing the kitchenette + laundry as advertised. They said a refund could not be provided for the difference, but they had a room with kitchenette + laundry and we changed rooms. However, I found the provided reasoning was just unacceptable when there was such an obvious difference in room facilities. - Bathroom cleanliness could have been better. There was visible mould on corners of the tiles, and our flexible shower head had clearly never been cleaned - each nozzle hole was black and clogged. We ended up using the rainshower instead for our entire stay. - Pillows provided were very, very flat and not comfortable for sleeping - Location was a bit further from the major tourist attractions
